IMG.09 - CRYBABY

FINGERS SOWN TOGETHER, filling her heart with its familiar gold molten sensation that sent a tropical warmth racing around her body. wanting to feel numb to the cold world that lurked just beyond the borders of their love sick domain, now that she would see him.

taehyung.

even when she felt her mouth flood at the sight of the gourmet meal in front of her, merely imagining the pastry on her tongue further vexed the waves of nausea crashing in the crater of her stomach. her appetite abandoning her at the worst of times. rose's rehearsal dinner.

the grand hall was showered with a warm, yellow light. tables decorated with a blanket of snow cotton, embroiled with summer flowers and ivy leaves. candle light spilling a puddle of light around its melting figure as conversation mingled in the air. the gold leaf walls all framing the moment, preserving it even when all violet wanted it to do was watch it decompose into chilled ash.

but nothing seemed to be going her way.

she knew taehyung's reaction no matter how prettily she tied the bow to her venomous words. it was still poison to their relationship at the end of the day.

"why are you shaking?" jungkook's voice peered past the cloud of paranoia that blurred the border between reality and the disturbed fantasies that ran wild in her mind. just as a protest was about to take flight from her lips, she found a tremor shaking her light olive digits. "i-i'm nervous about the speech." she lied.

his eyebrows threaded into a puzzling look. "wh-what? vi, we ran through the speech a million times. it's a beautiful piece and i know you're going to deliver it perfectly. you have nothing to worry about."

it's not the speech.

it's taehyung.

i'm scared of what he will do.

of what he will do to you.

and what you'll do to him in return.

but i can't tell you that.

because i'll only make things worse.

just like i always do.

"rose deserves a perfect wedding, and i have this voice in my head telling me i'll mess it up and ruin everything. i'm her maid of honour and it's my job to make this her dream wedding." only part of the truth could make it past the border of her lips. the truth she so desperately wanted to say being trapped.
