Come home to Jesus

Verses: 'Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them. "Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.' So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' "But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. '
Luke 15:11-24

The verse you just read was the parable of the lost son. Today I wanted to talk about no matter who you are, or what you have done: Jesus wants you to come home to Him.

In the story above the son spent all the father's money but when the son came home, the father celebrated.

No matter what mistakes you have made, no matter what you have done, and no matter how long you have been away: Jesus still wants you to come home to Him.

YOU are God's child. When you come home to Jesus, all heaven rejoices because one of their children have come home.

Jesus loves you so much that He died on the cross for you. (John 3:16) There is NO mistake that is bigger than God's love for you. Death couldn't even stop God's love for YOU!

God will:

God will love you forever. (Psalm 136:1) God will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5) God will comfort you. (Isaiah 49:13) God will help you and always be there for you. (Psalm 121:1-2) God is always faithful. (Psalm 33:4) God keeps His promises. (Deuteronomy 7:9) God is good. (Psalm 31:19) God has an amazing plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11)

God loves you so much and just like the father in that parable, God just wants you to come home so He can love you, help you, comfort you, forgive you, guide you, encourage you, give you His love, give you His grace, give you His joy, give you His peace, give you His rest, and give you all that you could ever need.

God wants to celebrate in you coming home to Him just like the father did in that parable!

God gives you no shame, only love.

So come home to Jesus, He can't wait to see you!

Prayer:

Dear God:

I am coming home to you. I know I have made some mistakes and I ask in your name for you to forgive me. I am truly sorry. But from this day forward, I am serving you and you only. I believe in you. I put my faith, hope, and trust in you. I know you are good. I know you will rejoice in me coming home. I know you love you and not even death could stop your love for me. So I thank you for forgiving me. I thank you for you love and the cross.

I thank you for Your Son and all my many blessings.

In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen!
