They flew towards the Rainforest. Well, they might be an overstatement. MIdnight felt as if she was the only one that was really there, with everyone else all camoflauged.
Deathbringer pulled up by her. He was the only one other than her that wasn't camoflauged. "Well, are you ready?" he asked.
"For what?"
"We're going to do what you were supposed to do," he pointed out. "Aren't you happy."
Midnight wasn't even sure about this anymore. "Sure."
They landed in the trees, and a small rustle came from behind her as all the dragons headed to the trees. She half-hoped that the Rainwings didn't hear them, but on the other talon she hoped that they did hear her, so they could get out of this thing.
Nope, she told herself. This is your destiny. Don't think about getting out.
They headed to the wooden platform Midnight had spotted, wow, just a day ago? It had felt so much longer.
She couldn't help glancing back. She felt something behind her, but it was probably just the Rainwings. Still, just for safety reasons, she made sure Deathbringer was always behind her.
They approached the base, and she took a deep breath. Its time. You can do this.
She drew her knife, ready, and spread her wings. And then the scream came.
She whirled around and saw Iris and Glasswing. Iris was snarling at the Rainwings as Glasswing pinned Deathbringer down.
"Wait!" Midnight cried. "Hang on!"
But it was too late. Deathbringer flopped down, and Glasswing looked up at her. "Why is he with you? WHY?"
"He's helping us!" Midnight cried. "He- he's trying to kill her too!"
"Yeah right," Iris snarled, and a Rainwing leaped out at her. Midnight's stomach twisted as she realized that it was Tigress who had her throat slit. Another innocent soul gone.
"What's happening?" a voice called from up in the platform.
Glory. She thought wit ha twist of fear.
"Come on," Iris whispered to her, and they slipped into the shadows of the forest.
Yayayayay. I finished the next chapter. Also sorry about Tigress Nightseeker :P.
