25. Respect

After that dramatic scenario, Nicole decides to lie the bed. Yup, we will be sharing rooms. She didn't talk after that, probably clearing her mind off. So, I decide to go out and catch some fresh air, and might also help her think without me beside her.

While walking and taking pictures of the resort, a guy bumps his shoulder in mine. I turn to glance up into his face, kinda looks familiar.

"Sorry bro." He said and laughs, walk back with his dudes, probably. I just shrug the thought that he kinda looks familiar and went on touring myself. They are preparing for the soirée, calling up few audiences such as Brie's family, and Nicole's friends from here, as well as JJ's bros.

"Hey Colby." Someone call me, turns out to be Nicole's dad.. "Let's talk later? I wanna tell you something."

"Sure..."

He walks off and I am just nervous right now. What could he be telling me?

The party started after a couple of hours, and all I did is to change my shirt. I waited outside because I want that we will go there, together.

Actually, I don't want anybody to know that we had a misunderstanding.

She walks out of the room wearing a dress up to her ankle. She looks at me surprised, probably thought that I'd go first, by myself.

Is stand up from sitting and stand right in front of her.

"Why are you still here?" She ask, gazing away.

"It's because I'm waiting for you."

"Well, you shouldn't have done that.. You could've just waited there."

"Nicole, are you pushing me away?"

"No." She simply answer that made me wonder why she's acting all of a sudden again. And since I don't want us just standing right in front of each other, I grab her hand tightly as I intertwine our fingers.

"We don't want your brother waiting.." Was all I sad and she nodded, walking straight to the hall where his birthday celebration will be held.

We arrive there shortly, greeted by Nicole's relatives, hugs and kisses all around.

"Well, who is this handsome guy over here?" Her aunt ask, turning her attention on me.

"Oh well.. Um, he's-" Not finding the exact words, I flash a cheeky smile to her aunt.

"I'm Colby Lopez. Nicole's boyfriend" I say, as  I reach out for her hand and kiss the back of her palm.

"What a sweet gentleman here I see. Well, its nice to meet you, Colby."

"The pleasure is mine."

The scenes were repeated over and over, until they called our attention, settling down as the celebration starts.

I sat next to Nicole, in front of her family. Daniel and Brie also attended, making me comfortable, knowing that I knew someone who I can talk to comfortably.

After the wishes and gifts and dances and songs, we settle down for the food, and shortly after, they borrowed Nicole and Brianna to the girls group. Her parents also start to catch up with their amigas... Me? I was left outcast, still sitting at the round table with the family.

If you're asking where Daniel is? Well, I can say he knew almost everyone around. He didn't even bother to talk to me, maybe forgotten about me.. And that's funny.

So, to avoid me getting into the scene with them anymore, I decided to sneak out of the venue, go and find the bar, remembering that it was just close to the main hall. I walk over and sit at the bar counter, ordering myself a beer. After the bartender handed me one, I pay and go out, going to an empty bench,facing the ocean.
