—REWIND—

(After the kiss)

... "That was the best birthday present ever."

He lets go and runs/dances around the studio in complete joy and excitement. I watch him being the big maknae he is as I hold my stomach from laughing so hard. Then all of a sudden, he stops and puts his hands to his face, trying to stop himself from blushing.

"What is it?" I say, trying to catch my breath from laughing.

"Oh nothing...just...I HAVEN'T KISSED YOU IN SO LONGGGG! Ahhhhhh." He says with an enormous smile covering his face.

He runs up to me and grabs me, lifting me up and spinning me around. We stare at each other with nothing but happiness on our faces before slowly putting me down.

"Wait, why did you even come back to college earlier? I thought you were done for the day?" I ask, confused about how Jinyoung and I got caught.

"I came back to ask you guys whether you all wanted to go out for dinner, since yano, it's my birthday. Then I saw you and Jinyoung and well...now we're here."

"Promise me you'll forget about Jinyoung and I coz it didn't mean anything, okay? You know how I feel about you." I say, holding his cheeks in my hands.

"I promise."

Tucking my hair behind one ear, he looks at me and says-

"You have no idea how much I've missed this."

—PRESENT—

We walk into college, with his arm wrapped around my shoulder, and make our way to the courtyard (hang out spot in college).

"Oh look who it is. The new maknae couple!" JB says, leaning back in his chair.

"Shut up JB. It's been almost a month, when are you going to stop saying that?" I say as I playfully hit his arm.

"So Yugyeom ah, have you told her what happened with Hana yet?" Jinyoung says, still a little bitter about Yugyeom and I getting back together. But he has been trying his best to come to terms with it.

"Hyung!" Yugyeom shouts at him and punches his arm.

"No no it's okay. I'm ready to hear it. So what happened with you two and be completely honest. If I find out you're not, pffftt watch what happens..."

JB and Jinyoung lean forward as if they're about to watch the climax of a movie.

"You had every right to break up with me and I admit that. But I want you to know that I never had feelings for her." He looks at me while taking my hand in his.

"So why were you always so close to her...and why did you kiss her back the day of the showcase?!" I say, getting defensive.

"You probably never knew this but Hana was a lot like you. She was actually a nice girl but I guess her jealousy got to her whenever you were around. She reminded me of you when I was with her, that's why I spent so much time with her and I know that was wrong of me but it felt like you were with me the whole time. When she kissed me in the showcase I thought it was you for a moment but then I saw you backstage and I didn't know what to do-."

"-clearly..."

"Then after the showcase when I saw you run out, I started to panic. Hana had gone home and I was so angry at her that I went to her house. When she opened the door, I started shouting at her but she kept telling me to calm down. She gave me some drinks and then the next thing I remember was waking up in her bed."

"So you did sleep with her then. That was the one thing I really hoped wasn't true."

"To be honest, I don't even know. I was in her bed but I found her on the sofa. To this day, I still don't know."

"Oooooooo," Jinyoung and JB both dramatically say.

I glare at them and they apologise, giving me a lot of little bows.

I look down at our hands. I'm glad I finally know the truth but I still feel like I shouldn't have let him tell me.

"Are you okay?" Yugyeom asks.

"I'm fine. I'm happy I know the truth now but I can't help but feel a bit upset by it."

"Jia, you know how sorry I am. It's the biggest mistake I have ever made. You know me and you know my heart. I promise to never hurt you again..."

"AWWWW!" JB and Jinyoung shout, hugging each other.

"Can you two shut it!" I snap at them.

They instantly let go of each other and calmly sit still.

"I trust you Yugyeom."

The bell suddenly rings so we all rush off to class. Class is as boring as usual and I slowly start to fall asleep when my phone buzzes.
