For the past 2 weeks, Yugyeom and I have been trying our best to make my big move as smooth as possible. Thankfully, the company got an apartment ready for me so that I didn't have to worry about finding a place to stay once I got to Korea. It's perfect. The perfect size, in the perfect area, with perfect neighbours - It was the perfect start to my new life in Seoul.
Besides looking for furniture and home decor since we arrived, Yugyeom and I used the rest of our free time to go around the city. Neither of us have ever been to Seoul, so we made sure to make the most of it before Yugyeom leaves tonight. We went sightseeing and took those typical cute couple pictures together. He bought me dinner every night, stuffing our faces with as many Korean dishes as we could since we rarely ate any back home.
Since we got most things sorted, we decided that today was a good chance to check out where I would be working. Yugyeom's flight isn't until late at night so we have the whole day to look around the company and help me get used to where I will be spending most of my time at.
We stand at the entrance in awe as we hang our heads back, admiring the enormous JYP building in front of us (A/N: Just pretend it is the new building even though they hadn't actually moved yet).
"Daebak (wow this is awesome)! Ya, you're going to be working here? I'm jealous!" Yugyeom doesn't take his sight off the building for even a second while saying those words.
Part of me actually feels bad for the fact that Yugyeom and his hyungs have never gotten any response from the company after constantly sending in their songs and dance videos. Yet, I'm here being offered this job that I didn't even work for. No matter how grateful I am to Yugyeom and JYP, sometimes I wish I could just give it all to the oppas. In reality, they deserve is more than I do.
"Don't be jealous! You'll be working here in no time. Don't give up."
"One day. One day I'll be a huge kpop idol with my hyungs. I promise you Jia...you'll never ever have to worry about me. I'll make it one day!" I watch him say those words with nothing but hope and determination in his eyes.
I suddenly feel like I'm going to throw up.
"Ah!" I quickly cover my mouth."Jia?! Are you okay hun? You've been like this ever since we landed. I told you that we should go to the doctors!" He tries to hold me up as I put my arms around my stomach and try not to throw up. I manage to control myself and get myself together after letting out a deep breath.
"I'm fine oppa. I think it's just nervs."
"But you've been like this for two weeks. I still think you should get checked."
"Like I said, it's probably just nerves. I've suddenly jumped into a new environment and my body just isn't used to it. I'll be fine in a few days. C'mon let's go inside." Before he can say anything, I drag him into the building.
"Jia? Is that you?" I turn around to see JYP himself.
"Annyeonghaseyo!" Yugyeom and I both bow politely to my new boss.
"What are you doing here? You don't start your training until next month. And whose this?" I can tell he's happy to see me yet confused at the same time.
"I just thought I would come before then to check out the building. Is that okay? Oh and this is Yugyeom, his brother also works for you. This is the guy that made all of this possible for me."
"OHHhh so you're Yugyeom. I've seen your videos too, you're really talented. I don't think we had a chance to meet while I was in London. It's nice to meet you!"
"Ah gamsahapnida (thank you). It's nice to finally meet you." He politely bows again.
"And of course it's okay Jia! You're part of the JYP Family now. Shall I take you to the dance studio where you'll eventually be making all your breathtaking choreographies?"
