it all happened so fast. people frantically rushing around her peaceful body. her face was a ghostly sheet of white and her piercing blue veins were now more viewable as her skin was a pasty white.

~1 hour earlier~
my tranquil sleep was awoken by the phone downstairs, roger had already got up to answer it and frantically rushed upstairs. 'd-delilah is in hospital' he blurted out. 'w-what?' i said, still half asleep so nothing had really gone in. 'we need to go now' he said with a worried look on his face. i leaped out of bed, only in a hoodie and some jogging bottoms as it was around 4am.

roger and i rushed to the car in silence, both of us still exhausted and confused. 'do you know what happened' i asked with a worried tone. 'jake just said she was out with friends and something happened' he rushed while starting to drive to the hospital. 'what happened to her?' i proceeded to ask, i knew he knew what had happened, he just didn't want to worry me. 'uh, i dont know' he lied. 'yes you do, just tell me' i hissed. 's-she got stabbed' he quietly said. terror dripped down my body, i had no words left. i didn't expect it to be that serious, i thought she had just gotten a bit too drunk and stumbled over on her way home. 'w-who did it?' i whispered, i was in shock so i wasn't crying or anything. 'they don't know yet' roger replied.

once we arrived at the hospital, a huge flock of people rushed passed. a sudden flood of panic entered my body. not just about delilah but about hospitals. i had a fear of hospitals since i was around 6 years old due to a traumatic experience. panic turned into a dizzy blur and i clung on to rogers arm as we raced to the front desk. 'delilah brown?' roger frantically asked the receptionist. 'third floor, room 345' she replied with a forced smile.

we ran up the stairs and searched for her room until we stumbled across it. jake was sat outside, his palms on his face. 'j-jake!' i exclaimed from down the hall. his eyes were red raw from crying. i rushed up to him, embracing him in a tight hug. 'is she alright?' i asked with a quiet tone. 'they rushed her into emergency surgery, she has a 50% of surviving since the wound is just below her heart' he cried. 'hey, shh, it'll be okay. it's delilah, she won't give up what easily.' i reassured him.

~4 hours later~
delilah has gotten out of surgery around an hour ago and we were now allowed to visit her. her parents were here now and cooed her with their posh thick accents. we were all so relieved she made it. i knew she would, she would never let herself die like that.

when it was roger and i's turn to visit her she couldn't move and could barely say a word. i hated seeing her in this state and droplets of salty tears trickled down my cheeks. 'hey, love. how are you' i whispered, tucking her hair behind her ears. 'best i've ever been' she managed to say. her sarcasm had never failed to make me laugh.

our moment was ruined by jake running into the room with force, he was out of breath and just blurted out 'WE KNOW WHO DID IT!'. the room fell silent as we all sat in anticipation.
