CHAPTER 4
I woke up and saw the sun shining bright on my face. It’d been three weeks since the incident with Jack. And guess what? He didn’t even come back to say sorry! I was just a mere toy to him. I sighed and turned away from the sun.
And then I jumped when I saw Jack next to my bed. “Get off you little...!” I screeched and moved away. I was angry that he was here uninvited, but at the same time, I was also kind of happy that I wasn’t just a mere toy to him. Or was I? well, he had come to check on me.
“Elsa... Please? I’ll do anything for apologizing.” He pleaded. Oh no. not from the starting again. “Please. I miss you.”
“You stayed away from me for fourteen years without any problem. Do the same again.” I snapped.
“That was different from this Elsa. Understand.” I said softly.
“In what ways Jack? Please. I don’t want to do this.” I said in a sad tone.
“I ways you won’t understand Elsa. Immortal life is difficult too. I didn’t ask for it. It was, is and will bug me forever. But, this should last. I’ve never met anyone like you.[Really?!] You share the same powers as me.[Oh. In that way.] forgive me please?”
“Whatever Jack. This isn’t going to be much of a change to me, you are just another person.” I said and stood up. I slightly spied on him to see how he was taking what I just said. He seemed to be upset and hurt.
“Elsa... You have every right to be angry. But I’m here to help you.” He said softly.
“Help me?” I asked curiously and turned towards him.
“The other day, when you got angry, you bought that huge storm. It was great, but dangerous. You can’t risk making a storm every time you’re angry. It didn’t affect me, but if it was someone else, then it wouldn’t be all that pleasurable.” He said as he ran his hand through his hair.
“I’ll figure it out myself.” I said and walked away.
“Fine. I’ll observe how well you do.” He said and I was amazed. I wanted him to put up an argument. I didn’t know how to control my powers! How was I going to figure it out? Uh-oh.
“Fine!” I said.
“Fine.” He snapped. Jack snapped? My heart felt... ripped apart.
I went into my personal room to get ready. Arendelle was waiting for me. Once I was done, I walked out in my royal dress, something like the one I wore for my coronation, except it was maroon. My hair in a bun and hardly and make up on. I didn’t look great, but I didn’t bother to look good, so it was perfectly fine with me. I was done looking good for the sake of other people.
I walked out of the ice palace and looked around. Jack wasn’t anywhere. I sighed in relief and summoned for my horse. When I turned to walk ahead, Jack was right in front of me. I jumped. As usual.
“I thought I asked you to leave and I also told you not to scare me like that.” I said calmly with my head held high.
“Would you like to fly your majesty?” Jack asked and I flinched. Majesty? Since when did I become ‘my majesty’ to him?
“I have my horse thank you.” I said and waited for him to reply, which he didn’t. he just moved away still looking at me.
“Suit yourself.” He said as he moved out of the path.
“Is there a problem my highness?” The guard who was now standing with my horse asked. I shook my head immediately and then understood that he probably didn’t see Jack. Great. Now he thought that he had a crazy queen ruling over him.
“Is this man here causing any trouble?” he pointed to Jack and asked.
Both Jack and I stared at each other immediately and Jack asked him “Wait. You see me?”
“What are you? A ghost? Of course I see you.” He replied and turned to me “This man is probably crazy my highness. Should I send the guards to fetch him?”
“No!” Both Jack and I said in unision. I continued “He’s with me. He’s just having a bad day.”
The guard nodded and turned away. I turned to Jack and he stood there staring at me.
“Th-thanks Elsa. I owe you big time.” He said still staring.
“He sees you Jack. He believes in you!” I exclaimed and then calmed down remembering the fact that I was supposed to be angry with him
“Oh my gods! You’re right! Unbelievable!” He jumped as he broke away from his trance. I giggled at his silliness and then stiffened.
“Anna must be waiting for me. I guess...” I said and trailed off not knowing what to say...
“I’ll see around?” he completed my sentence and I nodded. I rode my horse through the deep snow downhill. I was having a serious mental debate in my head where one part of my soul was yelling at the other part for letting Jack in again. Maybe I couldn’t shut him out after all.
I smiled at the blue sky and asked the negative part of my brain to shut up. I don’t love him. Not anymore. Giving a shot in just being friends wasn’t going to hurt. The rest of the journey went with me trying to figure out how the guard saw Jack.
