PHANTOM'S POV

"Seal my fate tonight

I hate to have to cut the fun short"

I slid the black mask over my face. A mischievous grin was plastered on my lips. No one is going to see this coming. Not even Elizabeth. I haven't been able to see her with the two Vicomte were watching her like a hawk.

"But the jokes wearing thin"

They angered me! No one shall keep my Elizabeth away from me any longer. Tonight, she becomes mine. I am done playing their game. It is time for it to end.

I picked up a candle and walked over to my desk, that held the makeshift stage I had created. I threw the candle into the pit of the stage and just watched it burn.

"Let the audience in

Let my opera begin"

Tonight Elizabeth, you will make your choice.

Tonight you become mine. Forever.

ELIZABETH'S POV

M. Reyer tapped on his music stand to get the orchestras attention. And soon, the sweet sound of music filled everyone's ears.

"Here the sire May serve the dam
Here the master takes his meat!
Here the sacrifice lamb
Utters one despairing beat!"

I waited off to the side of the wings, watching as Carlotta's ensemble took the stage. I don't think her voice was written to be any louder than anyone else's, but of course the diva has to make herself stand out.

"Poor young maiden! For the thrill!
On your tongue of stolen sweets
You will have to pay the bill
Tangled in the winding sheets!"

I looked out into the crowd and their reactions were skewed. I don't know if it was the unknown key of the music or the promiscuous way Carlotta was strutting around the stage, but some didn't seem to like it. I even saw a few covering their ears.

"Serve the meal and serve the maid!
Serve the master so that, when
Tables, plans and maid are laid
Don Juan triumphs once again!"

They all turned around to point to the back curtain as Signor Piangi, Passarino, Christine, Meg and the rest of the ensemble strutted out from behind the curtain. Carlotta hitting the last note almost made my eyes ring.

"Passarino, faithful friend
Once again, recite the plan"

"Your young guest believes I'm you
I, the master; you, the man"

"When you met, you wore my cloak
She could not have seen your face
She believes she dines with me
In her master's borrowed place!
Furtively, well scoff and quaff
Stealing what, in truth, is mine
When it's late and modesty
Starts to mellow with the wine"

"You come home! I use your voice
Slam the door like crack of doom!"

"I shall say, "come hide with me!
Where, oh, where? Of course- my room""

"Poor thing hasn't got a chance!"

Signor Piangi took off his cloak, his hat, and his sword and handed them over to Passarino. Right now, my body was literally shaking with nerves. This is the first time I'll be singing solo in front of an audience. Oh, why did I ever agree to this? I didn't know what was going to happen.
