Hiccup

I walked through the freezing snow. I could see my house in the midst and I felt the freezing water slush around in my boots and soaking into my socks.

I had just got back from working with my dragon, Toothless. I was expected to slay a Monsterous Nightmare tomorrow. I didn't want to, I had grown a great respect for dragons thanks to Toothless.

The time was well past Midnight so I was really shocked to see lights on in my house. I walked up close and saw my dad talking to my Uncle, Spitelout.

I stood at the door and hesitated to go in. I peered through the side window and saw the kitchen window was open. I was filled with curiosity and snuck around back to the unbarred window and sat there listening to their conversation.

"So, your telling me Snotlout can be the new heir to the village?" Spitelout blurted out. "Yes, I just have to figure out how I'm going to tell Hiccup." wispered my dad.

I don't think I've ever felt more infuriated in my entire life. I marched myself to the door and bursted into the main room where I met the two most shocked faces meeting my red and frustrated face. I marched upstairs and grabbed some small supplies and then ran down the stairs.

I stood at the door and glared at my dad. "Hope Snotlout is a better Heir then me, Stoick." Then I left.

Astrid

I walked back to my house in the freezing rain. I felt bad that Hiccup was being bullied, I know what it feels like to be bullied so I tried my best not to make him think I was bullying him.

I saw a slim figure running through the snow
'Hiccup?' I thought as I saw the figure run into the forest I pulled my axe from my back. The metal was cold on my skin but I held it tight.

I treaded through the snow and kept my distance. I followed him to a small cove and swiftly glided down the edge and then behind some rocks to keep me hidden. I saw Hiccup set a small pack onto the ground then watched him clip something brown onto his tunic.

I watched him really close and didn't even realize the dark figure creeping up on him. I saw the figure get really close to him out of the corner of my eye. He was still digging in his bag so I jumped out from behind the rock. "HICCUP, BEHIND YOU!!" I yelled running towards the black figure ready to slay whatever it was.

I saw purple flash in my face then I felt the hardness of a rock to my head. Before I knew it, I blacked out.

Hiccup

I was digging in my bag looking for my clips for my ride with Toothless. I was ready to run away and wanted nothing to do with Berk anymore. I saw Toothless coming close so I just kept suiting up for my flight with him.

I heard a loud yell from behind me. "HICCUP, BEHIND YOU!! " said a familiar voice. I turned and saw Astrid flying towards me with her axe. Toothless shot a plasma blast at her thinking she was a threat.

I ran to her limp corpse lying in the fresh snow. I felt her forehead and she had a fever. I couldn't leave her in the snow so I ran for my brown fur coat and laied it on her body. The morning was coming soon and she was already starting to wake up.

I ran to Toothless and saddled him up snd we flew off. We had no intentions of coming back anytime soon.

Astrid

I woke up to the sun glaring on my face. I grabbed the jacket that laied on top of me and pulled it on. I got up and looked around. I saw blood marks in a corner where Hiccup was standing last night. "HICCUP?" I yelled through the forest hoping for a response.
But there was non to be heard.

I walked over to the nearby pond and saw a small familiar knife sitting in the half frozen water. I dug it out and held the cold knife in my hands. The initials, HH was carved in the side. It was Hiccup's knife.

I felt tears rise in my eyes and the color drain from my face. I didn't want to believe what my brain was thinking. I shoved the cold small knife in my pocket.

I ran for my axe that laid in the white snow then ran for Berk. I yelled for Stoick and soon enough, I ran into him. "What's wrong lass?"
"Hiccup... Dragon... Dead... Help... " I breathed heavy from the run. My lungs felt numb form the cold air filling them rappedly. "Lass he's in his room." Stoick said and I just Shook my head. "No... He was in a cove... Last night... A dragon came out of no where... I tried to protect him... But he was gone this morning..." I breathed heavy through my words and saw Stoick's face turn to pure fear, something I have never seen his face down before.

Stoick called for some men and I lead them to the cove. Everyone looked everywhere for him but he was no where.

'Why was he out here so late at night.' I thought to myself and I soon felt a tight grip on my arm. "Where is he lass?" Stoick asked and I bowed my head. "He was gone when I woke up sir..."

"WHY DIDNT YOU HELP HIM FIGHT THE BEAST!?!" I was shocked at Stoick's response and a pale face soon accompanied my shocked expression. "I said I tried sir!" I protested against him. "No you didn't. You stood there and watched it happen." I stood there in shock, why was he blaming me for the loss of his son.

"Let's go men, we will leave this witch by herself." I stood there in shock. He called me a witch, what did I do!?! They left the cove and got back to the village. I sat against a rock and held his knife in my hands I didn't want it to be true.

White snow started to fall so I walked back home. I got back to my deserted house and took off the coat I wore. I looked at it and inside had the initals HH signifying this was Hiccup's jacket. I hanged it in my small closent and went for a bath.

When I got out of my freezing bath I climbed into bed and soon fell asleep. I dreamed of Hiccup and what I could have done to save him.

After all, he was my crush...
