Astrid's pov~
I ran through the halls, getting sprayed with dirt and cold drafts that hung in the cave. I ran into a cave room and looked around, looking for Hiccup.
He sat in the corner of the cave, holding his side and groaning in pain. I slid to him and peered at his wound.
"I know it hurts but we need to get you to ship with all my equipment on it." I said applying pressure on the wound that had grown in size since I addressed it last.
I took my free hand and grabbed the communicator Hiccup had used to talk to Erit and Mala.
"Hello, Mala? Bring the ship in, the threat has been neutralized." I yelled into the speaker that sat on Hiccup's neck.
No response.
"Mala!? Its an emergency!!" I yelled, tears starting to drift down my face, blurring my eye sight.
No response.
"Code word." Escaped out of my mouth.
"Mala, hold people back, don't bring the ship inward till the code word."
The conversation flooded back into my mind making me panic even more. "Hiccup!? Whats the code word!?" I asked shaking him softly. Instead of an answer, his head fell limp.
No response.
"No..." I whispered lowering my head to his chest. I could feel slight rising and falling and hear the thumb of his heart.
'No time to lose' I thought standing up and carrying the limp body, bridal style, over to Toothless.
I climbed on and held hiccup tight.
"Bring me to the ship." I said patting Toothless's head. He took no time to take off and zoom through the tunnels. Cool wind smashed against my face kicking up sand like when I ran. I closed my eyes and dressed Hiccup's helmet on his head protecting his eyes.
We flew through the tunnels and was blinded by the bright, shinning lights of the sun. I winced in pain and covered my eyes with my arm, blocking the sun.
My eyes adjusted to the light and Toothless swiftly landed on the ship. I jumped off of Toothless and sprinted to my bag. I grabbed my bag and ran back to Toothless, who was protecting Hiccup from by standers.
"Heather, look in my bag and find a needle, clean it with soap and water and find me stitches, stat!" I yelled looking for my gauss in my medical bag.
The medical bag was a blue duffle bag with brown leather straps and accents. I had Hiccup stitch my full name on the front pocket of the bag back when he was a blacksmith. He had sowed on the Haddock emblem on the front right corner of the bag.
I adored that bag.
After cleaning his wound, Heather had came back with the stitches and needle. I took the equipment and started stitches his wound, hoping it would stop the wound from stretching more.
Half way through the stitching, I heard a loud "Hiccup!" From behind me. It was a older woman speaking that sounded quite distressed. I took no time to look up and just kept sewing.
Shadows pasted over me grabbing my attention to see the owner of the shadow. I trailed the shadow to the owner to find the stranger from the caves.
The woman had tears streaming down her cheeks as her face was ashy red. Heather and Dagur took no time to pull the woman away so I could see with lighting.
About 15 minutes later, I finished the stitching and was cleaning up the wound when the woman came back, but calmer and less a risk of hurting Hiccup.
"Hello." The woman said wryly bending down and sitting across from Hiccup as I bandaged the wound with the snow white gauss. "Im sorry I scared you and your crew, I thought the dragons were held captive." She whispered bringing a hand to Hiccup's face.
Before she could touch him I ask a question I wanted an answer to.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Valka, I'm Hiccup's mom." She answered moving a strand of Hiccup's hair out of his eyes. I sat there not knowing what to say. "We thought you were dead..." Escaped my mouth as I placed a blanket over Hiccup's body that curled up to Toothless.
Before she could respond, Hiccup let out a grunt and slowly opened his eyes.
Hiccup's pov~
Pain.
All I could feel was pain.
Then hands, hands wrapped around me causing the pain to grow then everything went black.
Pain.
After blacking out, I could hear talking and felt warmth.
Warmth.
Something I haven't felt since finding Toothless. I opened my eyes slowly as light flooded my face and eyes blinding me.
Pain.
Pain course through my side and my eyes making me grunt in pain. "Hiccup?" Was heard from a familiar voice. A woman, older...
"Mom?" I asked trying to sit up only to slump back down in pain. In front of me was a older version of my last memory of mom.
A smile spread from ear to ear.
My mom was alive.
