"Pumpkin your going to make us late" Zachary whines once more. I roll my eyes as I press my foot down more on the accelerator.
"Whoa now, doesn't mean you have to drive like your going to kill us!"
I slam my brakes and glare at him. He gulps loudly and moves towards the window. " If you do not shut up, you can get your ass out and walk" I tell him through my teeth. He just sits there quietly and I begin to drive again.
I pull in the parking lot and look at the time, 7:30. We are actually twenty minutes early. I whip my head towards bozo and see him staring at me.
" What?"
" Your hot when your mad."
I stare at him in disbelief. I feel my face getting hot and there's no doubt my checks are flushing. I grab my big brown leather purse that goes over my shoulder and get out.
Was he just messing with me? Lately he's been acting weird. I'm sure he's just trying to get under my skin.
I shake my head and wham! I run into someone's broad chest.
"Ouch", I rub my forehead.
I look up to see Zachary's best friend Michael.
Michael is another one of the schools players. He has golden skin, light brown eyes with a hint of gold in them, big red lips, and blonde hair. He was 6" and very Nicely built.
He looks down at me, steadying me. "You okay?" he gives me a boyish grin.
" Yeah, I'll live. I seriously need to pay more attention thought. Lately this is all I've been doing."
"Not only that," I hear Zach say from behind me, "but also screaming at people making them sad." He makes a pouty face and I laugh causing him to stop making the face and gives me a lop sided grin, causing my heart to speed up.
"Aw c'mon Carter. You gotta be nicer to my boy here." Michael says.
Wait how does even know who I am?
Ugh. Whatever.
" Well when he stops trying to control my I will. Now, if you'll excuse me." I walk away feeling like a different girl from last year for some reason. I see Auden and we squeal like some children.
"Nice outfit" she looks me up and down. Today I decided on a white skirt and a red shirt that's tight fitted and goes to my elbow and some black heels. I had my hair pulled to a side fishtail braid with a few strands falling in my face.
Auden was wearing the same colors. as were most the seniors. Our class colors are white and a red Maroon color and since it was the first day and picture we were told to the colors. She is wearing the red Maroon colored skinny pants that are high wasted and a white long sleeve, tight fitted, low cut shirt with white heels. Her short dark hair was teased a bit in the back and she had put only a bit of mascara on to bring out her green eyes.
"Thank you! and look at you! You look amazing!" I say motioning my hands up and down in front her.
She smiles and answers " Thanks babe. But you never dress up. Your always in baggy cloths or something for school. It's no wonder why all the boys are drooling!"
My mouth drops "As if!" I laugh. Thats ridiculous. Boys don't pay me any mind.

By lunch time I was apparently the talk of the school. With Zachary and Michael and Auden by my side, why the boys I do not know, people have been staring at me, making me uncomfortable to the max.
Some one covers my eyes and I jump. I turn and find Colton. I give a big hug and he laughs, I pull away seeing every girls eyes glued to him and a very unhappy looking Zachary. I give him a questioning look but he just looks away. I tell Colton to sit with me, Zachary, Auden, Michael and a few other people that I've never really talked to but hangs with Zachary.
Zach mumbles something before getting up and stomping out the lunch room. I look to Michael but he just shrugs before introducing himself to Colton and they start talking about football and where Colton is from.
I feel him grab my hand but I don't even bother unclasping them. I like Colton, but why does it just feel like it's not right?
.... A FEW WEEKS INTO SCHOOL.....
"Michael?"
"Yeah Cater?" He looks up at me from his book. We are all sitting outside in the football field bleachers while Zachary and Colton and the team have practice.
"How come all of a sudden everyone knows my name and is all interested in me? Like yall never hung out with me, not that I'm complaining or anything, yall are really funny and cool, but I don't understand?" I pull at my cream colored loose sweater I had on with a black jeggings and brown boots.
" Carter you've always been noticed by us all. Your a very pretty girl. A lot of guys are attracted to you, like me", I feel my face turn red, " You just never talk to anyone or try to stand out or hang with anyone but Auden."
I just look at him and he smiles. " You asked doll face", he taps the underneath of my chin.
I look out to the field and see Zachary watching me. I wave and he smiles and waves back.
What is going on here. One day I'm hating his guys but the next we are like best friends.
Love hate relationship is what you could call it I guess.

Tonight is moms surprise party. After we all left the football field we headed to my house to set up and get ready. A crap load of people are coming. Family, moms friends and coworkers, people from my school too.
I have on a red fitted dress that stop about 4 inches above my knee and the sleeves are long with an open back. I slip on my black crochet peep toe heels before I go put on mascara and pink lip gloss and pulled my hair to a waterfall braid. Once I think it's good I turn to go to the spare room where Auden is staying to find her in a black Lacey dress that is strapless accented with a white pearl necklace and pink platform pumps.
I let out a whistle the same time she does. We laugh and she tells me how Drake is coming and how they've been. She started questioning me about Colton and Zachary. They were able to tolerate each other until Colton told our group we are together now. Ever since then Zachary looks at him like he hates him and has a new girl at his hip every week again. I tell her that I don't know what's going on but that me and Colton are good and Me and Zachary get along, whenever Colton isn't around is all. Michael insists that its because Zachary most likely likes me, but that's absurd.
We soon realize that everyone is here and has been for an hour. We walk to the steps and "You Da One" by Rihanna comes on and we walk down. Feeling like a girl in one of those movies I began laughing and so does Auden making me realize she's thinking the same thing. I look around for Colton but only spot Zachary talking with Michael, James, and Tyler. He looks at me and his eyes widen and he chokes on his drink. They guys ask him something but he shakes his head and takes another look at me. I feel my face turn hot under his stare.
"Yeah" by Usher comes on and everyone is dancing. Even mom and her boss. Go mom! She looks great, wearing a white simple dress and black pumps her hair and makeup done.
I walk over to her and dance with her as she reintroduces me to her boss David. He's not to bad looking.
After a while of dancing for like the first time ever I'm exhausted and walk down the hall to my secret spot on the porch that not even mom knows about or how to find.
Before I know it, I feel a hand on me and automaticity assume it's Colton and before I can get a good look he kisses me. And it's amazing. I get goosebumps, my blood heats up, my heart beats faster. I take in the persons scent and its heavenly. I'm pushed up against the wall as smooth lips kiss against mine. Making the perfect rhythm. He kisses my jaw and my neck and I gasp. He kisses me one last time and backs away. And I can not believe my eyes when I open them.....
