The moment those words left her lips a feeling of peace followed through me, she was okay –she was alive. However I still had my pride I wanted nothing from my mother ,if Nikky was alive id find her myself and when I did I would make sure that nothing came between us again.
‘’I don’t care about Nichole, Jenny ‘’ I lied straight to her face ‘’… if she’s happy well good for her now you have nothing to feel guilty about …’’-‘’ and if you think that finding her was going to make things better between us then I swear you got it all wrong.’’ I told her
She stared blankly at me and then to my father, hoping her was going to say something to defend her but he didn’t instead he walked over to Grace and they both left the room leaving jenny and I to enjoy one another’s company. Note the sarcasm.
When they shut the door Jenny burst into tears ‘’I don’t know what to do Aiden you’re my son and I want to fix everything between us.’’ She said whilst silently sobbing.
‘’Look Jenny all I want you to do is walk out that door the same way you walked out on dad and I four years ago.’’ She stared to the ground her face full of shame and regret a small part of me felt sorry for her while another part hated her so much. Every piece of love I had for her, she ripped it out the day she left. The memories still there but the pain never left and soon enough the pain was the only thing that controlled me.
With that she walked out the door and just before leaving she looked at me as if it was the last time she was going to see me and mouthed a silent ‘’I’m sorry.’’
And then she left.
The next morning after breakfast I decided to go and see Violet, you know to get my mind off things. She was my own personal distraction and I hated myself for it, until I found Nikky I couldn’t let her go. When I got to her door I was about to knock but I had noticed a black mini cooper behind me and I spun around looking at Riley and Blaire, her friends. They both looked angry at the fact that I was there.
Before any one of us could say anything the door swung open and violet stood there smiling at all three of us. ‘’Violet you ready ,let’s go.’’ Riley said from behind me like she was annoyed by my presence.
‘’Aiden ,Violets kind of busy right now, can’t you guys reschedule. ’’ Blaire hissed on my right. What the hell did I do to them? I looked over at Violet who seemed shocked at both of them but she said nothing so I nodded and walked down the four stairs and as I was heading out both of them burst into laughter.
‘’You should have seem your face man, that shit was classical.’’ Riley said now recovering from her laughter. I looked down clearly defeated and smiled at them ‘’That wasn’t funny.’’ I said now only looking at Violet who was as surprised as I was.
Before I knew it I was sitting in the back of Riley’s car with Violet as Riley drove and Blaire had shot gun, going to some theme park with the three of them. It was weird, almost like I’ve know them for ages. I wasn’t one who had many friends but this was different I enjoyed their company.
‘’You know after pulling a stunt like that on me, you could at least let me drive Riley.’’ I said jokingly as we made eye contact in the review mirror. Before I knew it she shot back at me while taking a drastic turn on the corner.
‘’Dude I met you a week ago, I will not let you drive this piece of crap, it’s the only piece of crap I got. ‘’ When we got onto the freeway Blaire turned up the radio, that was when I felt my death had begun. One direction blared through the speakers all around the car. I put my head against the window as they all started singing like a damn choir. My ears. They hurt.
