Finding the leaves for the raft wasn't too hard of a task. It turned out, Andy had brought some glue and packed it in his suitcase. It wasn't exactly waterproof but hopefully with enough of it, it would be able to patch up the hole and get them going for long enough to find land.
Land with actual human beings, that is.
They let the glue dry for three hours. It seemed sticky enough to keep the leaf secure on the raft. It may have been a foolish idea but it seemed doable. They played some more card games until it seemed safe enough to blow air back into the raft and put all their luggage back on.
Once again, two people (this time Ray and Dallon) pushed the raft out into the water while everybody climbed on.
"IT'S WORKING!" Gerard shrieked, hurting everyone's ears.
The leaves seemed to be working. Everybody was exhausted from a whole night of no sleep, so as soon as they had the chance, they slowly drifted off to sleep.
Until of course, Mikey woke everybody up.
"GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS WAKE UP, PLEASE!" he shouted.
Everybody woke up groggily, wiping their eyes and looking seriously annoyed. Ray apologized to Patrick, realizing he had slept on his fedora all night. Patrick was not happy.
"What is so important, Mikey?" Andy asked.
"The uh... I don't know how to tell you this but the raft is sinking. Again. Apparently gluing a leaf onto a life raft was not a good idea."
It was true. The raft was once again, deflating. They were no longer near the island. They were completly surrounded by the sea everywhere they looked. How long had they been sleeping? One hour? Three? Five? It was starting to get dark again. This time, they really were doomed. Nobody could save them now. They were going down.
Or maybe somebody could...
As if on cue, the distant sound of rumbling filled everyone's ears.
"What is that?" Brendon asked, waking up. Somehow, he slept through Mikey's announcement.
"It sounds like a... a plane!"
"It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's... a helicopter?!"
Sure enough, a beige helicopter was flying overhead.
"What does it say?" Mikey asked, squinting at the sky.
They all studied the blue font on the side. It read "T&J's Helicopter Compamy"
"IT'S TYLER AND JOSH! THEY HAVE COME TO SAVE US!"
Yep, Tyler and Josh. Was the last time we saw them really for Helena? Ahem, sorry. Let's continue.
Where were we? Oh yes, the helicopter hovered above the raft, causing the water to become rough and choppy. Nobody could hear each other and the wind was so strong. A small ladder came flying out of the open helicopter.
"I HATE YOU ALL AND I DON'T CARE IF YOU DIE SO YOU BETTER BET I'M GETTING ON FIRST!" Gerard yelled, taking off running.
"KNOWING TYLER AND JOSH THERE IS PROBABLY ROOM FOR LESS THAN HALF OF US SO I'M NEXT!" shouted Ryan who was catching up quickly to Gerard. After all, Ryan was very good at running for all the times he had to chase a drunk Brendon through crowded streets to avoid embarrassment.
Slowly, one by one, everybody climbed up the shaky ladder and into the spacious helicopter. Andy came last while carrying every single suitcase with his big CrossFit muscles.
"Josh? Tyler? How did you get here?" Ryan asked, moving over to hug them. Clearly, their faults in the past had been forgiven and they were able to be somewhat-friends.
