Unfortunately for everyone involved the war lasted another two years meaning that the war lasted for a total of four years before the allies were able to conquer German and its friends, by the time the end had come everyone had been changed in some way which for Nora and the others they all seemed have hardened as a result of the war and the toll it had taken on them making Nora nervous for the moment when all of the men returned to Birmingham once again especially Tommy since she wasn't sure what to expect after spending four horrific filled years apart as he fought in the sat and she treated the wounded. Whatever expectation she had could not have prepared her for when the moment arrived when she finally laid eyes on Tommy for them to embrace before he gently pushed her side with that being the only real interaction they had had since he had come back to Birmingham a month ago. One morning Nora had gotten dressed in a simple olive green dress with small white flowers on it that buttoned at the neckline and had a belt that wrapped around her waist, she also braided two sections of her long dark hair before pinning them back while letting the rest of her hair down in its natural waves. Just as she finishing getting dressed by lacing up her brown boots, James came running down the stairs dressed for the day at the Shelby booking house as he grabbed his Peaky Blinders hat
" where you going?" James said taking a look at his sister and the dress she was wearing as he wondered where she was going so earlier making him realise that they were still figuring things out
" the Garrison, Harry asked me to open the pub this morning for him and I said I would since it means less time over at that Shelby's" Nora said thinking about how tense things between her and Tommy
" so that's your plan? Just avoid Tommy at all costs?" James said as they grabbed their coats and walked out of the house to see Tommy riding down their street on one of his racing horses
" apparently I can't avoid him even if I wanted to and I don't want to but it seems that he does" Nora said as James lock up their house as they turned to see what Tommy was doing since he clearly had a plan
" what you talking about?" James said thinking back on how in love Tommy and Nora used to be before the war to the point where he used to think that nothing would ever separate them
" you guys came back a month ago and he hasn't talked to me since he pushed me away at the train station when I came to greet you guys" Nora said in almost a bored and dull kind of tone as she thought of it
" this is her? The girl who tells fortunes?" They heard Tommy say as a Chinese man and young woman walked towards him almost scared about what was going to happen with the notorious
" what is he doing?" Nora said wondering what move Tommy was planning smiling as she thought about how he always seemed to scheming and thinking of a new con to run
