^Nora's first dress^
After everything that happened in Cheltenham, things in small heath seemed to have settled for now or at least they did after everything came out about how Tommy traded Nora in as part of the deal he was making with Kimber causing Jamie to punch his best friend for what he had done to his sister, to this day Nora had been thinking non stop about what had happened that day and what Tommy had said to her in responds to her question about why he had come back for her instead of letting Kimber have his two hours with her like they had agreed. Nora knew that the more she got involved with Tommy and the Peaky Blinders then the more she would be in danger from men like Kimber and from the police although she couldn't help herself from falling deeper in love with those ice blue eyes that she adored so much as a teenager. Nora wore a dark green spotted dress with a vneckline and puffy sleeves as well as her usual brown books, she also wore the majority of her hair down in a mass of waves with two sections twisted and pinned high on the top of her hair. She was distracted from her current task while working her shift at the Garrison as she watched Arthur and a nervous John walk into the side room reserved for the Peaky Blinders when Grace came up beside her
" I never did ask about how you knew Thomas Shelby?" Grace said to the other bartender as she wondered about what her connection was to Tommy and the others and how deep it ran
" why would you? And we grew up together living on the same street, his aunt raised me and my brother when our parents left us one way or another" Nora said as she moved away from the counter
" is that why your brother is a Peaky Blinder?" Grace said causing Nora to be reminded of her suspicions over Grace who always seemed to be asking questions about Tommy or the Peaky Blinders
" what's with all the questions? Surly Harry warned you about asking too many questions and probably mentioned that people tend to end up dead when they do that" Nora said not liking where this was going
" I'm just trying to get know you all better and considering the rumours surrounding Thomas, I find your relationship with him curious" Grace said as she began to use a clean cloth to dry the one clean glasses
" how so?" Nora said narrowing her eyes at her as she wondered why her relationship with Tommy was any of her business as she wondered whether or not she could punch Grace without being seen
" everyone always says that Thomas is the coldest and most emotional void out of all of the Shelbys but you two seem close" Grace said not knowing that she pushing a lot of buttons that belonged to Nora
" that's because we are, I know Tommy in ways that most don't but that's none of your business" Nora said knowing that Tommy was like that with most people who weren't her due to how they grew up
" is everything okay?" Polly Shelby said as her and Tommy entered the pub and immediately sensed that something was going on between the two women since they recognised the signs of Nora's anger
