Eve was one of the guards who escorted Loki, now finally in handcuffs. As they pass the lab, she moved to collect Banner. Only she noticed the two had a prolonged eye contact. Loki nodded with one of his signature smiles while Banner rubbed his head,
"You alright Doc?" She questioned softly.
He nodded, not looking directly at her as he followed the woman into the Briefing Room where Loki's interrogation was being showed.

Loki was now free from his cuffs. Eve studied the large glass cell held by hydraulic rigs. Fury moved to the control panel
"In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much as scratch that glass.
Fury pressed a button which opens up a hatch beneath Loki's cell. Loki looked intrigued as he peered down at the drop. He only nodded, a bit impressed,
"Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?"
Fury closed the hatch, pointing at Loki,
"Ant." Then towards the button that controlled all, "Boot."
Loki just smirked at their inside joke,
"It's an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me."
"Built for something a lot stronger than you."
"Oh, I've heard."
Loki looks into the camera, a little smug grin on his face,
"The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?" He questioned.
Banner shifted a bit at that comment, Eve was glad Loki didn't mention her gifts as well. Fury just continued smoothly,
"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control." He took a step closer to the glass, "You talk about peace and you kill cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did."
"Ooh," Loki rumbles mockingly, "It burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is."
Fury just smiled easily, "Well, you let me know if Real Power wants a magazine or something."
Fury walked off. Loki kept smirking at the camera like he just won that fight. Eve studied the men and woman around her. Steve was just watching the black monitor. Thor, didn't even watch, he just listened, turmoil clear in his eyes. Finally Banner spoke up,
"He really grows on you, doesn't he?"
"Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?
"He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract." He murmured loudly enough for all of them to hear.
"An army? From outer space?" Steve said seriously,
"Beats fighting Nazis huh Spangles?" Eve chuckled softly at his playful glare.
"So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for." Banner ignored her comment.
"Selvig?"
"He's an astrophysicist." Eve explained,
"He's a friend."
"Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours." Nat sighed.
The older Barton clenched her jaw at the mention of her baby brother.
"I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here."
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him."
"Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother." Thor started defensively.
"He killed eighty people in two days." Nat informed him flatly.
"He's adopted."
"Yeah, that explains the murderous tendencies." Eve snorted.
"Iridium, what did they need the Iridium for?" Banner muttered.
"It's a stabilizing agent." Tony called, talking to Coulson about something,
"Shit, forgot about him."
"Means the portal won't collapse on itself, like it did at SHIELD." The narcissistic man turned towards Thor, patting his arm, "No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing." Thor looked down at the hand that dare touch him, "Also, it means the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long, as Loki wants." He turned to the crew dramatically, "Uh, raise the mid-mast, ship the top sails. That man is playing GALAGA! Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did." He covered his eye, looking around, "How does Fury do this?"
"He turns," Agent Maria Hill stated, looking a bit annoyed.
He turned, muttering, "Well that sounds exhausting." Then louder for everyone to hear, "The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. Only major component he still needs is a power source. A high energy density, something to kick start the cube."
"When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" Agent Hill asked, not entirely sure she trusted his reasoning,
"Last night." He said smugly. "The packet, Selvig's notes, the Extraction Theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?"
"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?" Steve questioned, like he would get a non-scientific answer
"He's got to heat the cube to a hundred and twenty million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier." Banner mused,
"Unless, Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunneling effect."
"Well, if he could do that he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet."
"Finally, someone who speaks English."
"Is that what just happened?"
Eve smirked, "Just sounded like nerd talk to me."
The two scientists shake hands. Mutual respect shining clearly in their eyes,
"It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner. You're work on anti-electron collisions is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster."
Banner just sighed while looking down,
"Thanks..."
"Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him." Nick suggested, finally walking in.
"Let's start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon." Steve noted,
"I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys."
"Monkeys? I do not understand."
"I do!" Steve piped up excitedly, "I understood that reference."
Eve patted his shoulder proudly while Tony rolled his eyes,
"Shall we play, doctor?" Stark asked
"Let's play some."
The two walk out. The rest dispersed to their own places inside the base.
