Eve dropped onto the ground hard. Her sword slicing through the ground with ease as the golden energy she had stored within it erupted out to the Chitauri surrounding both Thor and Steve. Thor flipped a car over, crushing the few remaining soldiers before turning to help Steve to his feet,
"You ready for another bout?"
"What? You gettin' sleepy?" He grumbled tiredly.
There comms buzzes on, Eve's was a bit static due to some damage,
"I can close it! Can anybody hear me?" Nat gasped into the mic, "I can shut the portal down!"
"Do it!" Steve ordered.
"No, wait!"
"Oh come on Tin Can why the fuck not!" Eve whined.
"Stark, these things are still coming!"
"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." There was a slight pause as Tony pinpointed his target, "And I know just where to put it."
Eve looked up at the portal. Her mind going the same route as her friends.
"I'll cover you!"
She shot off, catching up easily to Iron Man as he gripped the missile from underneath its slender capsule. Eve gripped the thing tightly, and the two forced it off of its designated course.
"Eve?"
"Yeah Starky?"
"Is there enough juice in that glowing thing of yours to keep these things off me?"
She chuckled, "Hell yeah there is."
He woman gripped her sword tightly. Moving away from the missile far enough so she would do any damage to it. This whole thing would be a bust if she accidentally caused the nuke to explode prematurely or prevent it from exploding. The two expertly rose up into the air, climbing higher.
"Stark, you know that's a one-way trip." Steve informed them grimly.
Eve clenched her jaw as she remembered the night her and Tony had met. It was years ago, but he still owed her a favor. The woman moved so she was flying below Stark, arms reaching to grab the missile and ready to take control from him.
"What are you doing?" He yelled.
"I'm cashing in my favor." She replied flatly, "Let go Stark, I can survive out there."
She was lying through her teeth and he knew it.
"Please Tony, let me help you."
She could practically see his sad smile from beneath his mask,
"You saved my life Stiletto. Now it's time I return the favor."
The ring of his chest piece charging up caught her attention. Before she could do anything he shot her away. Eve felt her powers of flight slip from her grasp as she was pushed back, her sword slipped out of her numb fingertips. Time slowed as she roared out her fear and rage, reaching out for Tony's shrinking figure as she dropped closer towards the earth. Her hair had fallen out of it's braid and whipped around her face messily. Too far into her shock to realize that the ground was getting closer. A pair of muscular arms wrapped around her as her descent slowed. She looked up to see Thor had caught her, landing next to Spangles. He placed her onto her feet gently, a hand on her back to hold her steady. They watched in amazement as the Chitauri soldiers and Leviathans suddenly fell over. All dead. The three looked up, praying that Tony would just appear. But, they saw the supernova from the explosion coming towards them, Thor nodded towards Cap as Eve bowed her head in acceptance. Fighting away her tears as Steve said those dreaded words,
"Close it."
After a moment, the Tesseract's energy was cut off and the portal started to quickly shrink. Eve placed her head on Steve's shoulder in defeat. Only for him to suddenly jolt,
"Son of a gun!" He breathed with a smile forming.
She looked up. Bringing her hands to her mouth as a single tear of relief ran down her dirt covered cheek. Smiling from ear to ear. Only for it to fade when they saw Tony just kept on falling,
"Oh for fucks sake!" She groaned.
"He's not slowing down."
Before either Thor or Eve could fly up, Hulk snagged Iron Man from the air. Crashing into a nearby building before sliding down. He landed on his back. And with a huff he tossed Tony off of his chest. The three rushed over to his side, Thor easily ripped Tony's faceplate off of his helmet. They all saw his battered face, how pale he was. There was no sign of life. Eve placed a hand on the top of his helmet as she took in his features, planning on how she would tell Pepper when Hulk bellowed out in fury. The noise causing not only for her to jump in fright but also enough to wake there dead looking friend.
"What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me." He gasped, eyes landing on Eve, who was too shocked to be pissed at him, "Unless it was you Evie. I'm know I'm in a committed relationship and everything but honestly you did save my life a couple years back and..."
"...We won." Steve stated breathlessly.
"Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys." He cheered, hitting the ground with a pathetic amount of strength, "Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma?" He asked Hulk, who tilted his head in confusion. A bit squinty eyed, "There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it."
Eve continued to ignore Tony's antics as she watched Thor stare up at Stark Towers,
"We're not finished yet."
"And then shawarma after."
Eve snickered, "Yeah Stark, whatever you want alongside a good ass-whooping later for shooting me."
He groaned. Hitting his head against the ground lightly. Eve cackled, exhaustion evident in the slump of her shoulders and poor Spangles sighed like the tired old man he was.

Loki crawled out of the large hole Eve had created with his body. Slowly dragging himself up the stairs. He took a few breaths as he mentally prepared himself to face the group behind him. He slowly turned to see the Avengers staring at him, pissed. Righteously so. All except for Eve who smirked down at him with amusement brightening her usually cold eyes.
"If it's all the same to you." He grunted, sitting up properly, "I'll have that drink."
The green beast that threw him around like a rag doll simply snorted,
"Sorry sweetheart, but I think that offer is off the table." Eve chuckled.
He hid his subtle smirk as he got the message from her mind.
'I'll hold you to that promise.' He whispered in her mind softly.
Her smirk widened slightly.
