Jessie's P.O.V.

"Babe call me back when you get a chance. I'm on break"

"Back to work Jessie"

"I'm going"

My shift is almost over and I can go home to see what's going on.

"Lizz are you gonna lock up"

"Yeah, see you later"

I arrive home and I hear the the water running, so I assume Alana was taking a bath or shower.

"Babe I called you like fifty times. Why didn't you answer?"

No one answered so I start to become suspicious.

"Babe, do you hear me?", walked in and I see water everywhere. Alana was laying there under the water. And there was an empty pill bottle on the floor.

"Alana get up baby", I cried out to her.

"Wake up", I tapped her face to wake her up but she didn't

"Come on now. Don't do this to our baby. You have to wake up".

I performed CPR and tried to help her but no sign of life.

I knew I couldn't help her. So I wanted her to receive medical attention. They came as soon as possible.

I just sat there with her in my arms.

"Sir move out of the way"

I kissed her on the forehead and her belly to say goodbye to her and the baby.

She was 8 months pregnant and she only had one month to go. We didn't want to know the gender until she birthed the baby.

The ambulance hurried and I tagged alone with them.

"The baby still has a heartbeat.", the doctor announced.

"What do you mean"

"We have to cut the baby out in order for it to survive"

"What about Alana"

"She's gonna be hospitalized for a while"

They began operating on Alana to get the baby out. I heard a screaming noise as they slapped the baby on the butt.

"It's a baby boy", the doctor said as he handed me the scissors to, cut the cord. I held the baby and I start to tear up. I wished she was awake to hold him.

Jessie Jr. was the baby's name. The both of them were hospitalized so I decided to head home to pack some clothes.

I just broke down into tears. I couldn't help myself. She wasn't even there to see the birth of our baby.

While I was packing clothes I found a letter written by Alana.

"Dear Jessie,

    I'm sorry I'm taking you through all this crap. You really don't deserve a girl like me. I'm really tired of suffering and I know that they will do whatever they can for the baby. You take care of him for me. I know the gender, I knew by the way he kicked in my tummy. I can't stay here anymore. The baby deserves you, you're the better parent. You take care of him now. I LOVE YOU BOTH

"I love you too", I said to myself as I cried. This girl has really been through a lot. But I knew the lord had had plans for her because she's still here with us.

I headed back to the hospital. I just stared at the baby. He had all my features but also some of Ty's. I really wish it was mine. At midnight I went to Alana's room to sleep there and watch her through the night.

Every time I saw her, I just wanted to cry. All I heard was the machine as it progress her heart rate. All I saw was her on oxygen and the I.V. in her arm.

I was up there in the morning for a while but then I had to go to work at night. The money was coming in very well. So i knew I had to bust my butt because I had to provide for all three of us.

As for school. Alana and I were able to go back to school online to finish our final semester.

I had a friend at work who has a very dark personality. Her name was Cassidy. She's very secretive, but she talks to her co workers once and a while.

"Come on Cassidy what was your mom's boyfriend name that you hate so much. You couldn't hate him that.", Lizz said.

"Yes, I do hate him", she said angrily

"I hated Ty's guts. He never showed me respect. He just thought I was some slut he could screw whenever he wanted."

"I know that bastard. He hospitalized my girl. Cassidy by any chance do you know where he might be", I asked

"I don't know"

"Yes you do know I can tell by the look in your eye. You have to tell me because the same thing he did to you and my girl, he will do it to someone else. So where is he"

"He's over my mom's house"

"Well can you take me there"

We drove to her mother's house and I walk in to have a one on one man to man conversation with him.

"Hey ole dude Jessie. Did your girl have my baby yet"

"Did you do that to her"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

I started to get very angry

"You know very well what I'm talking about"

"And if I did, what the hell were you gonna do about it"

I couldn't take it anymore. So I uppercut him and Cassidy's mother ran in.

"What is going on"

"Ma'am I'm very sorry for coming in and disrespecting your home, but this sorry excuse of a man hospitalized my girl and put my unborn baby life in danger"

Cassidy was over in the corner crying.

"Cassidy why are you crying", her mom questioned frustrated.

"Ma'am he has been raping your daughter constantly, the exact same thing he did to my girl."

"Cassidy is this true"

"Yes ma'am"

"Ty I need for you to get out of my house now." Ty leaves the house with a smirk on his face.

"Thank you so much for your help"

"You're welcome ma'am"

All I could think about was getting Ty off the streets
