Tanner's pov:

Long story short, I came to the office to start another productive day and a new face appeared in the aisle. She was wearing white formal shirt and talking to Matthias, my boss. I quietly snuck to my office, where already was my colleague, Gunner.

"Sup dude."
"Bro who is that?"
"That's (Y/n). She's the news in the studio, the relationship manager."
"She's replacing Domi?"
"No she's an assistant." Gunner stated as I observed her through the office window.
"Why did I chicken out of there? I'm gonna say hi."
"Good luck. Don't do anything stupid." Gunner laughed as I left the room.

I approached her and introduced myself, but she didn't reply, until I noticed she's got AirPods. I leaned against the wall in attempt to get her attention. I thought throwing in a little laugh wouldn't hurt.
"You come here often?" she yelped, jumping slightly. I didn't realize she had a cup of coffee in her hand. Not hard to guess what happened next.

"Dude..."
"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry. Let me clean it up for you-" The drink spilled all over her formal shirt, soaking in the snow-white fabric. I reached out to start cleaning the stain, but she lightly shoved at my hands.
"Don't bother, you ruined it."
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to bring in some laughs."
"I see." she stated, clearly upset over losing a good shirt. "What's your name, joker?"

"It's Tanner."
"I'm (Y/n)." we shook hands. I didn't want to make things more awkward, so I decided to guide her somewhere where she could change.
"Sorry about the shirt again. I'll just be on my way..."
"I guess that's fine, you didn't know."
"Spare shirts are in the closet at the end of the hallway."
"Thanks." but before she was off, she turned back and quoted me.
"You come here often? Really?"

Okay, I admit, I can be awkward around new people, but THIS was a disaster. Gunner was watching everything from behind the window and laughing his butt off. But then Matt came around and scolded him to get back to work. Little karma at least.

Later on, when I went to the warehouse to change the camera batteries, I noticed (Y/n)'s new office was next to ours. Now that's just great. And when I thought it couldn't get worse, we bumped into each other again and she was wearing Gunner's shirt - the REKT long sleeve he'd wear for the videos. I felt a wave of jealousy go through me.

"Hey, umm..."
"Hi, I couldn't find the closet you mentioned, but your friend was nice enough to give me a spare shirt."
"I see. Do you know, by any chance, where he is now?"
"He wanted to hang out at my office, maybe he's still there." When I hoped this conversation would last a little longer, she just walked off again. I felt like I could literally punch the wall next to me full force. I headed to her office and spotted Gunner on the couch there.

"Okay, what are you doing here?"
"Just... hanging out?"
"This isn't your office."
"Not yours either. She said I could hang out there. I bumped into (Y/n) later that day and couldn't help but ask about her interesting pattern on her shirt. She explained some moron spilled his coffee all over it, so I asked if she wanted a spare one." Gunner chatted, looking at his phone. So now she thinks I'm a moron, wonderful.

"The shirt you gave her isn't a spare one, it's yours!"
"I'm aware."
"Dude, what the- are you flirting with her?"
"Why wouldn't I? She's very attractive."
"You have no chances."
"And you've got some negative points after spilling that coffee, so just deal with it." Unfortunately, he's my best friend, so he sees right through me. This whole situation was making me so mad. Okay, just one more video to shoot today. I can do this.

When I got to the blue base, I searched for my friends, thinking a little chat with them would help me relax, but in the kitchen there were Woods, Paul, Connor... and (Y/n), sitting at one table. So now she's hitting it off with everybody except me. This is upsetting. I was about to leave when I heard my name being called.

"Have you met Tanner, (Y/n)?"
"Yeah. He spilled coffee all over my shirt."
"Typical." Woods laughed.
"Tanner is a legend."
"He truly is." she said.
"What was that? Are you blushing?" Connor asked, leaning over the table.
"Am I blushing?"
"Dark red, dude!"
"Stop it!" They argued and I couldn't help, but smile. That was low-key adorable. Maybe I've got a chance after all.

I plopped on the couch in the warehouse and waited for the filming crew to come around.
"Mind if I sit here?" someone said. I looked up and it was (Y/n). I moved to the side so she could sit down. We just sat there in silence. In an awkward, unbearable silence, so I had no choice but to break it. I looked at her and she still had Gunner's shirt.
"Sorry about the coffee, (Y/n)."
"I don't wanna talk about it. Let's act like it never happened."
"But you lost a good shirt."
"Bummer." the awkward silence stroke again. But then, I couldn't help but notice...

"Wait, are those Steve Madden?" I asked pointing at her black ankle boots.
"Yeah, why?"
"That's funny, mine are Steve Madden too." except they were light brown pumps.
"Cool. I see you're into some good fashion."
"Duh, I'm the most stylish here." I said, trying not to sound too cocky. (Y/n) smiled and looked me up and down, scanning my outfit.
"Can't argue with that." she said, while grabbing my sleeve and examining the blue fabric. "Hilfiger?"
"Correct. Best button up I've ever gotten." I stood up and did a spin for a better presentation and successfully, (Y/n) giggled. Okay, Tanner, focus. She likes your outfit, she's into fashion. You got this.

"What do you think?"
"It's gorgeous, was it expensive?"
"No, I got it on sale."
"Oh, I'm never lucky enough to get one."
"You should go shopping with me then."
"Are you asking me out?" I rose my eyebrows and looked around, noticing dozens of eyes peeking out of the corridor, from the kitchen and through the window.
"Maybe I am."

(Y/n) got up from her sit and stood in front of me, swinging back and forth on her feet.
"So... after work? We can hop to Pull&Bear, so you can buy me a new shirt."
"And then we could hang out at Starbucks?" she titled her head and tried not to smile, shooting me a sassy smirk.
"I can't say no to Pull&Bear and Starbucks."
