"So, this is where you work, eh? Nice set up," Yato asks, throwing back a chip.

"Whoa. Look at all these screens," Yukine gasps. "Look! You can see the whole shop."

"Ah yeah. That's neat. Look at that lady. Is she stealing?" Yato adds, squeezing between Yukine and myself.

I can feel one of my eyes twitching, the annoyance bubbling beneath the surface. This isn't quite how I planned on spending my day. If anything, I was expecting quiet and boredom. Was being the keyword. It was supposed to be like any other day.

I squeeze my eyes closed and huff, "Remind me again...why the hell are you two here? More importantly, how the hell did you get back here? This area is for authorized personnel only."

Yato throws back another chip, waving one of his hands dismissively, answering, "Relax, relax. No one saw us."

"Still not an answer, but okay," I mutter. "Let's try this. Why the fuck are you here?"

"Hey, hey! Language! There is a child in the room," Yato says, standing up straight, placing his hands over Yukine's ears. "Shield your innocent ears Yukine. This is no talk that a young one should hear!"

"Get your sweaty paws off me you creep!" the younger demands, pushing Yato's hands away.

I can't help but snicker as a wounded expression mask over the elder's features. He appears like Yukine's words truly hurt him. Perhaps they did, but I doubt it. Based on what little I know about these two, I am aware that they sure do go back and forth a lot despite Yato's master complex. It makes for great entertainment.

"Hey! We talked about this ya freakin' brat!" Yato barks, pointing at the younger. "I am your master. Show me some respect!"

"Respect? I'll show you respect," Yukine puffs up.

Yato narrows his eyes. "Why you -"

"Alright, enough," I snap, pushing the two a part. "Enough bickering. Yukine, go sit on the stole over there." He pouts, but do as he's told, leaving the eldest. I turn to Yato, adding, "And you, answer my damn questions before I throw you out."

He is about to say something but stops himself, eyeing me. I can feel him thinking...possibly. Maybe he's thinking. I assume that's what he's doing based on the look on his face. I won't lie, he looks almost serious right now. His face is relaxed, and his eyes are locked on mine. It's amazing to see how he's shifted from a giant clown to intense. It's almost intimidating. Still, that doesn't matter.

"You want me to answer your questions?" he asks abruptly, his tone low as his lips bend into a crooked smirk.

A chill darts the length of my spine, though I ignore it and put forth my best annoyed expression, snapping, "What kinda question is that? Of course, I do!" I cross my arms firmly over my chest. "Now, answers, please."

"Look at you being all polite now," he beams, that darker expression fading into a goofy one. "See Yukine? That's how you show respect."

"I doubt she was saying that out of respect," Yukine mutters.

"What was that?!" the elder shouts.

Growing tired of all that's going on, I hold my hand in front of Yato's face, silencing him. He immediately drops his gaze to me, his lips nearly buttoned tight. To be honest, I almost didn't expect that to work, but I'm just so tired of all their bickering.

"Answers, please," I huff, "or I'm throwing you both out."

Yato rolls his eyes and sighs, "Fine, fine. Don't get your panties in a bunch. I'll answer 'em." He crosses his arms over his chest. "I'm here on business."

"Business?" I repeat, lifting a brow. "What kind of business?"

"Collections," he replies matter-of-factly.

"Collections? What do you mean by that?" I press.

His sharp eyes meet mine as he points a finger at me, his tone is now high. "Collections from you!"

There's no way I heard him correctly. He did not just say that. Why would he say that? Surely, I misunderstood him. Right? My ears have to be deceiving me.

"Collections from me? For what?!" I snap, furrowing my brows.

He holds his hand up, displaying the number five and smiles, "The five yen you owe me, of course!"

My eye twitches. I don't know this Yato guy, but I do know I want to knock him out with a right hook. In fact, I think I'm starting to understand Yukine's constant frustration with the elder fellow. If he's annoying after only a few moments, I can only imagine what he's like when there's no escape from him.

"T-the five y-yen I-I owe y-you?" I repeat, balling my hands into fists.

Breathe and don't strike, Y/N. Breathe and don't strike. I tell myself.

"Yeah! From when I saved you from the big, scary phantom," Yato answers cheerfully. "You wished for that, didn't you?"

"WHAT?! No! I didn't wish for shit!" I nearly scream, remembering I'm still at work. I lower my tone to a whisper and add, "All I did was close my eyes. I never once made a wish, you moron."

His face reddens. "Hey! My services ain't free ya know!"

"Five yen? You want five yen? I'll give ya five yen," I chuckle darkly, digging into my pocket. I find some loose change, five yen to be more precise and press it against his chest. "There. Five yen. My made-up debt has been paid. Will you please get the fuck outta here now?"

He takes the coin and tosses it in the air, flashing a cheesy grin. He catches it and drops it in his bottle that almost seems to have come out of nowhere. Regardless, he appears all chipper and happy now that he's gotten his little five yen. Whatever, I don't care. As long as this gets him out of here, then I don't care.

"Thank you for your business...uh...hey, what's your name again?" he asks, a chuckle pulling at his tone.

Eye still twitching, I huff, "I never gave you my name, but if it gets you to leave, then fine. Y/N. My name is Y/N. Will you please go now? You're distracting me from my work."

"Would that be a wish?" he whispers, leaning close to me.

I'm done. I'm over all this. I want these two -Yato, in particular- gone. I never thought I'd admit it, but I miss the silence. I miss the silence and simplicity of my job. Nothing but screens and myself. Not the screens, myself, and two weirdos.

I lift my gaze to Yato's a murmur, "Get out."

"What was that? It is! That'll be another -" he begins.

"Get the fuck out!" I order, pointing at the door. "Both of ya, out!"

The taller pouts as the younger comes up from behind him, grabbing a fistful of Yato's jacket, sighing, "Come on. Let's go. I'm sure there are more jobs out there. Besides, keep this up and she might try to pummel you." He lowers his tone to a whisper. "Not that I blame her."

Yato whimpers and whines the whole time as Yukine opens the door to my office and pulls Yato out with him, once again leaving me to myself. The silence washes over me as it fills the room, the two showing on the screens. I just watch as they effortlessly make their way through the shop and leave, vanishing from view. All the while, no one paid them any mind.

I lean over my desk, breathing, "A god, eh?"
