"It's not severe, though it would have been urgent to look further into it if the hoove had dug any further into her. Her ribs could be fractured if such actions were taken, and if not, broken."

My eyes were glued to their lids. I was unable to open them even the slightest, even though I could hear shuffling around me. The room was silent, apart from of course, the fire at the far end, warming everything near and afar. Through my pounding headache and the ringing of my ears, I could make out murmurs between two people. One of them, I assumed, was the nurse, or a doctor. A male, I could tell, from the raspiness of his voice.

"Where is he?" he asked the other anonymous person I was unable to make out. A sigh melted the quiet in the room. "By he, I mean Hagan. Where is Hagan?" the doctor urged desperately, but professionally.

"I killed him."

Niall was the other one in the room.

"Why?" the man hissed and I could hear footsteps making their way further out into the room. "Niall, why did you kill Hagan?!"

"I don't think you understand, Liam. He fucking killed one innocent person who did nothing wrong. By killing her, he almost killed the one lying unconscious on my bed!" he replied. His voice was low, raspy: from lack of sleep I could tell.

The man - Liam, I'd heard in Niall's previous outburst - sighed softly. "Are you going to tell Louis?"

Louis Louis Louis Louis. That's his name. That's the devil's name. Louis.

Niall's laugh was short, almost non-existent, but all the while, it was there. "I don't think you understand. He shouldn't find out for obvious reasons: her."

"Since when did you care?" Liam pointed out calmly, and I could tell Niall was in a frustrated state as he paced up and down the length of the room.

"Since I realised Louis would kill every fucking person who witnessed the scene! You know I don't care about the people. I'm just as negligent as he is. But, people don't just grow on trees, Liam. He doesn't seem to realise that. Where are we going to get our thousands of slaves? We can't get people to appear," he clicked his fingers, "just like that. The population is dying down out th-"

"Ni-" Liam began to interrupt the dark, angered angel.

"Liam, don't fucking interrupt me. I'm capable of killing you as much as the devil is. But at least I have a brain to think through things, unlike him. He's impatient." I heard the mumble of a sorry before Niall continued.

"Like I said, the population isn't increasing anymore. If anything, it's decreasing by a drastic amount everyday. People aren't reproducing on a daily basis because their minds are clogged up and the animals are all dead anyway. The only physically, emotionally and sexually active creatures out there are the wolves, who seem to enjoy a human or two for every meal of the day!"

Liam's laugh was heard just enough through my ears. I wasn't capable of identifying the laugh as to if it was out of nervousness, or fondess to what the darkened angel said. However, I could tell it was to do with an inside joke between the two men when Niall chuckled along with him.

"You should tell Louis what you just said, Niall. You could work something out."

"Work something out?" A rumble of laughter errupted from his chest. "I don't think you heard me right. Louis is a restless, impatient man. He gets everything he desires, whenever he desires such things. If I tell him, he will most likely come up with the most imprudent plan in the history, but a terribly cunning one at that. From what I know of him, he will probably threaten a group of two hundred humans of each gender, lock each of them up in a cell with a stranger, and force them to make babies."
