When Auro entered the dreamworld, he wasn't expecting it to be like this.

He woke up wearing same the breeches and white shirt like his previous dreams, but the scenery was different.

Way too different.

He woke up in the middle of a dark forest with no marks of trails for exit. He tried to walk around but it felt like he was going around circles. The trees, the grass, everything looked the same! And it didn't help that it was dark! Yeah the dark didn't ever bothered him but how can he escape this place with no light.

He searched and searched but it was no use!

For a long long time, he forced himself to walk on and on and on. His throat was dry. His feet and clothes were scratched all over. He's already very tired.

In a few moments, he collapsed to the ground. How long have I been in here? Weeks? Months? He couldn't tell.

He's lost. Fear was starting to creep on him.

No. No! It shouldn't be like this!

He ran and ran with no idea where he's going. Out of nowhere sounds of creatures he never heard before were echoing through the woods. Sweat trickled on his face, he's losing his mind! He ran faster.

No, it shouldn't be like this! I'm looking for my destiny. Not like this!

A pain shot through his foot and he tripped.

"Ah!" A vine of thorns suddenly appeared on the ground. Where did it come from? Auro looked at his foot. It was mess! Blood and dirt covered his worn-out feet. His whole body shivered. Ugh, maybe he should just give up? It's much easier than struggling.

Rustle.

What was that?

There was nothing for a while, then something moved and before his eyes, thorns  grew and grew around the area, as if reaching for him and ready to choke him. They slithered on the ground and came closer and closer. A vine rose up like viper ready to strike. Auro raised his hand to shield himself when something pulled from his finger.

A thread?

One end was tied to him, while the other stretched to nowhere.

Hope flared in his chest. This might not be his end after all! He stood up. The thorns recoiled as if sensing something in him. He stepped forward, they retreated. He stepped again, and further they went away. Slowly they disappeared and Auro realized something.

Dreams reflect your subconciousness.

Those thorns were attracted to negative feelings. They slither in and choke you the way depression, worry, and fear do. And now that hope blooms in him, they retreat back.

Maryweather was right. He is a numbskull. He shouldn't have given up so easily.

Auro pulled the thread to him. It was attached to something at the other end afterall.

A smile broke on his face. Could it be?

Could it be that on the other end, the field and the girl will be there?

Auro ran, this time out of determination and not of fear. He will see that field again. He will see that girl.

And not a bunch of thorns will stop him.
