CHAPTER 16 - The Threat

After they cleaned up and bid their goodbyes, Chase went straight to home and has decided to end things with Isabella. He ascends from the lobby to his penthouse apartment, as he opened the door he is greeted by a very familiar face.

"Tyler?" He asked. "Ah! Just the man I wanted to see. Where were you by the way?" Tyler asked as he stood from the couch and looked at Chase disappointingly. "What're you doing here?" Chase asked with a surprise face. "Recently, I have heard that you are marrying Isabella. I wanted to be the first one to know of this news." He said.

"Is that what she said? She wants to marry me?" Chase asked. "She told me you wanted to marry her." He said.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, Tyler but I'm not interested in marrying your sister any time soon because of what happened last night." Chase said. "Well, that's your loss." Tyler said cooly and walked towards Chase.

"Listen here bud, you will marry my sister whether you like it or not." Tyler whispered angrily. "Is that a threat?" Chase retorted.

Tyler manhandled him and bashed his body on the wall. "Let me say that again, you will marry my sister whether you like it or not or else... I'm gonna kill you, kapish?!" Tyler threatened Chase. "You know far too much about my family and how much we are worth. I do not want to disappoint my parents and to lose all our money. You're marrying into our family now, Chase whether you like it or not." Tyler raised his voice.

Chase shoved him away, "who do you think you are dictating my love life with Isabella?" Chase yelled and threatened to punch Tyler.

He brought out his pistol and pointed it out on Chase.

He put his hands up surrendering to Tyler. "Not so strong now, are you?" He said angrily in his French accent. "Okay, man what do you want?" Chase said in a shaky tone. "I need you to marry my sister." He raised his voice. "What's the catch?!" Chase asked. "To help me in some debts that I owe some people." He yelled.

"How much?" Chase asked calmly. "Answer me!" Chase yelled.

Tyler gestured the gun to Chase again making him shut up and freeze. "Can't I just give you the money now?!" Chase asked. "It's more than just that. My family is in deep water and I need you to marry Isabella to save us all from deep shit!" Tyler yelled as he tensed up. "What's it about for fucks sake?!" Chase asked in an angry tone but Tyler wouldn't answer. "Why can't she marry Liam instead? He's got a lot more money than I do." Chase said.

Tyler shoves him to the wall and points the gun on his forehead, "I'm giving you forty days to come up with an elaborate wedding ceremony to Isabella and if you don't I will hunt you down, take your little daughter and kill you in front of her." Tyler threatened. "Do you understand?!" He yelled and then left his apartment.

Chase is left in distraught, fear and in a very huge problem.

He then calls his private investigator, John to investigate on the recent Martin Family scandal. He waits and waits for hours but there isn't any update. Chase calls Isabella to come home and investigate for himself.

As soon as Isabella arrived, Chase greeted her. They sat on the dining table as they drank tee and he begins to ask her questions. "Honey, is there anything you wanna tell me?" He asked. "No. Why? What's the problem?" She asked. "Are you in some kind of trouble with the Feds?" He asked.

Isabella heaved a big sigh and said, "Tyler, he's in trouble." She said softly. "Why? What happened?" He asked. "He went bankrupt three years ago, remember?" She asked and he nods. "and he borrowed money from the wrong people. Why do you ask?" She said softly.
