CHAPTER 23 - The Final Announcement

Chase has been sleeping over Allie's Brooklyn Heights Brown Stone house for quite some time now. And he always takes time off from work to spend time with Allie and Cassie.

No one knew about this arrangement until Chase and Allie decided to throw a Thanksgiving party in Chase's apartment.

Everyone they knew showed up to the party where they had a nice time socializing, dressing up for this formal occasion and just being there for each other.

Chase clanked his champagne glass to get everyone's attention and in return everyone turned their attention to him.

"I am so glad all of you came out and made it here tonight. First of all, i wanna say Happy Thanksgiving. And cause it's thanksgiving I want to share some exciting news with all of you... Allie and I are getting married this December." He announced and raised his glass.

Everyone was shocked with the news and were very happy Chase finally got what he wanted.

"Chase! You didn't tell me you and Allie were back together! Whaaatttt." Carlie said as she approached Chase and hugged him. "We both wanted to wait." He replied and smiled. "Well I'm so happy for you." She said. "Thank you, it's good to finally be happy." He said. "It's good to see you happy, Chase. It's been a while." She replied and then they both hug.

Carlie rejoins Kevin and Chase goes to his friends. "Boys!" He said and raised his glass to greet them. "Congratulations, man." Trip said as he raises his glass. "Finally!" Jeff said and raises his glass. They all clank it and drink.

Then Bradley slowly approaches them. "Hey guys." He said softly. Chase turns around, "Hey man." He said and moves to let Bradley join the conversation. "I wasn't sure if the invitation you sent happened to be sent to the wrong person." Bradley said. "The past is in the past, Walker." Chase said then Bradley hugged him. "Thanks man." Bradley said.

"But hey, can you promise me not to scare my soon to be wife?" Chase joked then Trip and Jeff laugh.

"That's not funny, man." Bradley said. "I really am sorry for that, man." He added. Chase puts his arm around Bradley's shoulder, "it's okay, man. I should be thanking you, we weren't ready before and we both needed to grow up. So don't blame yourself for what happened between me and Allie. Like I said, past is past. Let it go, Walker!" He said with a laugh.

"See, all is well!" Jeff said enthusiastically. "Yaaaay for everybody!" Trip joked. "Happy Thanksgiving!" Trip and Jeff say in unison. The boys catch up and drink up, it's been a while since all of them got together.

After that, Chase went around to greet and receive congratulations from his friends and relatives. While he warmed himself near the fireplace, Cassie ran to him and hugged as he picked her up. "Happy Thanksgiving Daddy!" She said cutely. "Happy Thanksgiving, sweetie." He replied. "What're you thankful for?" She asked. "I'm thankful for having you in my life." He said and kissed her nose. "Hey, what about me?" Allie said as she walked towards Chase and Cassie. "I'm thankful to have you in my life as well, Allie." Chase said and kissed her lips while smiling.

"I'm thankful that you and daddy are finally getting back together!" Cassie said and hugged Chase. "Cas, why don't you go play with Anita (Trip and Amelia's daughter) and Emma (Jeff and Mia's daughter) for a while." Allie said then Chase puts down Cassie and she runs to go play them.

Then Chase wraps his arms around Allie's waist and pulls her closer to him. "Happy Thanksgiving, Allie." He said and kissed her. "Happy Thanksgiving, Chase." She replied.

"I came to talk to you because there's something I want you to know before everyone else." She added. "What is it?" He asked then Allie whispered it to him and Chase was shocked.

Later, as the feast began Chase stood up and clanked his champagne glass to get everybody's attention again. Then he held Allie's hand and made her stand up too.

"Good evening everyone! I hope all of you are enjoying this little gathering so far and find that life is made up of moments like these - to enjoy the company of such caring, celebrated, successful and talented people. I'm thankful for each and every one of you." He said.

"But there's one final announcement we need to tell all of you." He added and looked at Allie.

"I'm pregnant!" Allie gushed.

Everyone stood up and went to go congratulate Chase and Allie once again before the dinner finally commenced.

As they dined and enjoyed bonding with one another, Chase and his parents excused themselves as they talk in the living room. "I'm so proud of you, son." Charles, Chase's dad said. "You're gonna be a daddy again!" He added. "Thanks dad." Chase replied with a laugh. "I always knew Allie was the one for you." Cassidy, Chase's mom said. "Yeah?" Chase asked. "The moment you brought her home to us, I knew she was the one." She said. "How so?" Chase asked. "You never bring anyone home to us, Chase." Charles replied and Chase fell silent.

"All we're saying is, you and Allie fit perfectly for each other. You two bring out the best in each other." Cassidy said. "Just like your mom and I." Charles gushed and kissed Cassidy. "I love you." She said to Charles. "I love you too." He replied and kissed Cassidy.

Chase crinkled his nose at his parents' PDA, "I love you guys. Happy Thanksgiving!" He said and hugged the two of them. "You finally got your happy ending, son." Charles said. "Nah dad, it's just the beginning." Chase replied and smiled. Then they rejoined the table.

As Chase takes a seat, he saw how happy everyone was, after all, it was thanksgiving. But he thought to himself, finally, everything is in it's right place.

After the dinner and a little bit of socializing, everyone left the apartment. "Finally, I get to have alone time with you." Chase said as he wraps his arm around Allie and shuts the door. "Don't forget, you have to tuck Cassie in for bed." She answered. Chase groans, "Fine." He gave up. Then they part ways.

Chase went inside Cassie's room to find that she was already knocked out in bed. He sat beside her, pulled a blanket over her and kissed her head before leaving her room.

He closes the door and he rejoins Allie in the kitchen. "Hey you shouldn't be cleaning. It's late, come to bed with me." He said as he leans on the island. "These dishes don't clean themselves up, Mr. Everett." She replied. "We'll do it in the morning." He said. "Just go change, I promise I'll be quick." She said.

Chase walk towards her and hugged her from the back, "Can the dishes do this?" He asked as he kissed the right side of her neck. "Or can it do this?" He asked as he slowly kisses her neck to her shoulders. She turned to face him and he slowly held her hands wrapping it around his neck.

"Is this you trying to be sexy?" She teased. "Is it working?" He asked. "Just a little." She joked and he carried her to their bedroom.

Allie unbuttoned his shirt as he unzipped her dress while they kissed. Then Chase gently laid down the bed while Allison was on top. They made out for a while then they make love and eventually they fall asleep in each other's arms.

Looks like, Chase and Allie have officially announced their engagement and having another baby! What do you think? It might just be a happy ending after all... Or not. Hahaha find out more in just a few more chapters 'til this story will come to an end so please stay tuned!
