Scarlett
I smiled into Drew's face for a moment until he turned away to give Michael all of his attention again. Which was great because I didn't know how much longer I could hide the utter confusion I was now experiencing. How the hell was I even seeing what I was seeing?
I watched on as Tera wrapped her arm around Michael's waist as he did hers. Taking the time after to scan the room full of people. Because for some reason or another I felt as though a god awful trick was being played on me. I had to have been the only person in here who hadn't the slightest clue as to what was going on.
I happened to cross Drew's mother's face and to my surprise she seemed just as confused but also trying to hide it. We locked eyes for a moment before she swiftly turned away. What was she upset about? As if this new revelation suddenly made him un-fuckable. What should have made him un-fuckable was the simple fact that he was sleeping with her son's girlfriend. She had her nerve.
Just then I could feel a set of eyes on me. I looked over to find the one person who might have the answers to all my questions burning holes into my face with. "Drew could you please excuse me for a moment?" I asked pulling my arm away from his and heading over to her.
I stopped only inches from her. Taking a moment to scan my surroundings before I spoke. "What the hell is going on?" I asked threw clenched teeth. Making sure to lean into her so that no one else could hear me.
"Ask your man." Was all she said before placing a glass full of god knows what to her lips. I was sure to lean back because for one her breath reeked of liquor and secondly she was about to get gone smooth the fuck off on if she kept playing with me.
"Well I'm asking you." I said grabbing her forearm as she attempted to walk away. She quickly snatched it away causing me to take another step into her personal space.
"Look I know you thought you won but you didn't okay." She hissed. "There's no winning with him." She said allowing her eyes to grow sad but only for a moment. "He was never mine. And he'll never be yours." She added before scoffing and walking off toward the deck. Her words leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.
I attempted to regain my composure before heading back over to Drew. This conversation was the furthest thing from over but the last thing I needed to do right now was make a scene.
My eyes crossed the stage and apparently Michael and his family had stepped away. There was now some older gentlemen speaking into the crowd. Presumably the president of the partnering company
"Honey over here!" Drew's voice rang across the crowded dance floor. He wasn't where I had left him. He was now at the left corner of the stage accompanied by none other than the Jordan's. The Washington's near by.
I placed a fake smile on my face before heading over. Making sure to make and hold eye contact with Tera the entire time as I made my way.
Drew quickly wrapped his arm around mine as I stood beside him. "Tera this is my lady Scarlett Redd. Scarlett this is Tera Jordan and DJ." Drew said pulling me closer.
"Scarlett Redd. It's nice to finally put a face to the name. Drew has told me soo much about you." Tera said readjusting a sleepy D.J. in her arms. My eyes darted to Drew as did Michael's. How did she know him? "It's nice to finally meet you." She said extending her hand for me to shake.
"Charmed. I'm sure." I said accepting her gesture. Her pupils seemed to dilate right in front of my own eyes. As she wrapped her hand around mine. Making sure to softly dig one of her nails into the back of my hand. My forced smile dropped but I made sure not to show too much emotion. Quickly releasing her hand and allowing my arm to fall to the side.
