[Jisoo's POV]

The right hand blinker ticked annoyingly in my drained ears, irritating me beyond words. It seemed to be yelling at me to make a move, to simply grip the steering wheel harder and turn my hands to the right.

But I felt like an inanimate object, I couldn't move. Or . . . It was more like I didn't want to move.

I sat stiffly in the seat behind the wheel, my car standing still in the middle of the road. My tear bruised eyes staring blankly at the half-empty driveway to my best friend, Chaeyoung's house. All I had to do was press the gas pedal, and turn into the driveway beside her car. That's all I had to do.

But, as I sat thinking in this stuffed up car in the middle of the road, I said to myself, Who wants to see a reddened, raw, emotionally beat up face like mine on their own birthday?

I was scared to let her see me like this. Call me dumb, but . . . I'm more afraid of what she'll do to her.

•FLASHBACK•

"This really makes you guys official now. She seriously asked you to move in?!"

"Yes! I know, it was so . . . unexpected, right?!"

"Eeeeek!" Rosé screamed and hugged me in such a girly way. I don't know, but I was super happy too, so I joined her as she began to twirl me around, jumping like a crazy bunny.

"Okay, okay." I laughed lightly, "We should get back before they start wondering, you know?" Rosé nodded at me with her huge smile and began to follow me.

But, before we were in view of where the girls sat on the living room couch of Rosè's house (not yet Lisa's), I was yanked backwards and ended up being pulled down the hallway we'd just walked out from.

"What?" I asked my friend, confused.

She looked me in the eyes, completely serious, "I actually told her this already, when the two of you had just started dating. I just naturally pulled her aside one day. . ."

"To say what?" I asked.

"That if she EVER breaks your heart, even just once, and you come crying to me or anyone else . . . She WILL regret it." She looked so dead serious.

I chuckled nervously, "Whoa, I'm sure—"

"She will be broken . . ."

"Okay, Chaeng. But—"

"I will kill her. . ."

"Aish! Arasso, arasso!" I yell while she smirks victoriously. I sigh when she pats my back, grinning toothily.

"Just saying. . ." She said, now happy. I roll my eyes and reply,

"I really don't think Jendeukie would do that to me, ever. She's not like that." She smiles at me and pats my back again as we slowly start walking.

"Just wanted to let both her and you, know. . ."
I laugh softly, "Thanks for caring, Chaeng." I was sincere.

"No problem."

•END OF FLASHBACK•

Knife-like tears began to prickle my eyes as I thought back to what I'd said that day.

'I really don't think Jendeukie would do that to me, ever. She's not like that. . .'

I wanted a car to ram into me from behind, knowing that I couldn't have been more wrong.

I'm so stupid, so gullible, so naïve.

I let myself love again; deeper this time, more trusting this time, so completely lost this time. . . It's going to be so hard letting go.
