"I need to warn you before you feel bad when something happens. Your powers and abilities, they will glitch out for a long time so if a cup shatters in your hand or you run into a wall because you're not used to going as fast, don't feel bad. We all have broken doors, showers and so many dishes." Victoria started laughing, "I was cooking one day and folded a cast iron pan. Just don't want you too feel bad if something happens." With her warning on Serenity's mind she headed to the bathroom. For the first time all morning, she got a good look at herself. Serenity's dark hair hung in knots to her hips, and her eyes. They used to be a dark green, but now they were neon green as though they could glow in the dark.
After scrubbing the leftover blood and sweat off of herself, Serenity wrapped herself in a towel and went out to search for clothes. As she walked out of the bathroom, Victoria's voice rang down the hall, "Serenity." There was a doorway open at the end of the hall but from this angle she could only see a wall inside. She walked through the door to find a large bedroom, it had the same red carpet and pine walls but this room had been covered by plants and flowers of all kinds, strongly perfuming the room."If you like, we can move some of them to your room" Victoria said watching Serenity look at the flowers. "You can change in the bathroom, I left an outfit for you on the counter." When Serenity returned from the master bathroom, she was wearing a dark purple t-shirt and jeans.
Victoria sat Serenity down at a large vanity before brushing out her long brown hair."Why do I not feel the want to go home, you know like back to my human family?" Serenity asked, it bothered her that she didn't care if she went back or not.
"Well, it's like an instinct. If the humans knew about us then we probably wouldn't have as much food, because they would all be aware they were being hunted. So I suppose when we are changed, our brain doesn't want to go back because it could be dangerous" she explained.
"One more and I'll quit bugging. Why are my eyes lime green all of a sudden?" she was staring at the floor as Victoria pinned her hair back.
"When you were human your eyes were green right? Well when we get turned our eyes change to the brightest color they can, causing Syalis' and yours to go lime. While my brown ones turned to gold, and blue would turn almost ice blue." she put down the brush and pulled Serenity into her closet.
She opened the top of her dresser revealing all sorts of hair accessories pulling out a large cloth green flower. She began to hum lightly to herself as she pinned the flower right behind Serenity's ear. Serenity went back to the vanity to look in the mirror, the flower perfectly matched her eyes. In the mirror she could see Victoria watching her. Victoria had the same long, straight, brown hair and petite body as Serenity, but her sad golden eyes peeked through her silver bangs.
"You have a real talent" Serenity complimented as she admired her reflection."Thank you, are you ready?", she said while grabbing her purse from the king sized bed.
At that moment they heard someone come in the front door, Serenity looked to Victoria confused, it couldn't be Syalis already she thought.
"Hello, is anyone here?" A lady's soprano voice yelled through the house. Victoria walked out of the bedroom, with Serenity following.
"Hey Malori, how are you today" Victoria smiled at the lady. Malori was short and Hispanic but had the same eyes as Victoria, informing Serenity that she was also a vampire.
Malori just glared at Victoria, "I'm here, what could you possibly need this early in the morning." Her judging eyes flashed to Serenity. "Who is this?""Serenity this is Malori, an old family friend. Malori this is the reason your here so early, Syalis and I took in another child, and to celebrate tonight with a barbecue for our three families." Victoria waved her hands around excitedly as she talked.
"It's lovely to meet you Serenity" she turned back to Victoria, "What does that have to do with me."
"Well..." Victoria smirked crinkling her nose, "I need you to go to the human world to get food and supplies."
