Suddenly Serenity could smell the hamburgers cooking, she grabbed Liam by the shoulder and ran into the house. Passing by Malori, Victoria, and Sydney in the kitchen, she dragged Liam through her bedroom, heading for the back porch. Letting go of Liam she opened her closet and shoved him in.

"Nice closet, why are we in here?",She ignored his question and started shoving him toward the next door. Suddenly he planted his feet and crossed his arms. "I am not moving another inch till you tell me where we are going." He stated stobernly.

"Fine don't look behind door number two." She said, jokingly. He stood there looking at the door pondering what could be behind it.

After what seemed like a lifetime, he opened the door, looking disappointed as he looked in the bathroom. "Why did you drag me to your bathroom." He asked raising an eyebrow.

Rolling her eyes Serenity grabbed his arm and pulled him through the last door. "Oh. Wow. That was the strangest way to a back porch I have ever seen."

"Right!" She exclaimed. "Honestly I didn't  even see the door to my closet until Malori pointed it out." She said sheepishly.

"Really?" he laughed, plopping down on the sectional.

She walked over to the netting, seeing Sean and Syalis, Serenity went through the screen door and sat on the back steps.

"So were you two, changed at the same time." She asked.

"Yes, our parents were farmers in the 18th century." Sean said, flipping the burgers.

"We didn't get attacked like you guys though." Syalis stated looking back and forth between the two kids, "Back then it wasn't against the law to turn someone, that wasn't dying."

"A few years back they put the law up to vote, due to our rising population, most everyone agreed. So it was passed." Sean finished.

When Serenity went back into the porch Victoria, and Sydney were bringing the sides out, while Malori and a blond woman with short hair and a thin face,  sat up a table behind the couch.

"Liam. Serenity.  This is Jade she's Malori's youngest daughter", Victoria said, arranging the food.

Jade smiled as they approached the table, "Sorry my dad and brother couldn't make it tonight, they wanted to go on a father son hunting trip."

Liam shrugged, "We will get to meet them eventually."

After Sean brought the hamburgers inside, they all dug in. Syalis put football on,but Serenity never really liked sports so she ignored it and ate in silence.

"Are we going hunting together tonight", Liam asked, his plate already gone.

"No Victoria and I are taking Serenity out alone tonight", Syalis said, through a mouth full of food.
After everyone finished eating they all carried the leftovers to the kitchen, and cleaned up the back porch.
Syalis showed Liam and Serenity where his game system and games were, before he returned to his football game on the back porch with the other adults and Jade.
When they had settled into the game, Serenity turned to Liam, "What do you know about vampire law?".
"Honestly, not much. Dad refers back to some of them when he talks, like they did on the back porch, but as for the actual government I have no idea", Liam answered. "I know both our dad's work security for them. Dad said he has been working there for about a hundred years, and that your dad started working there before that."
"Wow, I bet they get paid a lot. I mean look at this house", she said waving her hands around at the room.
"Ya my house is a lot like this one, the design is a bit different, but if you look around I think our dad's might have designed these houses together.", Liam replied looking around the living area.
"One way to find out.", Serenity joked.
Sydney walked inside with Victoria, both carrying pop cans, "Mom, did dad and Syalis design the houses?", Liam asked.
"No, all four of us sat down and made the plans, then the guys built them from the ground up", Sydney replied.
"Every ten years or so we move, we have been moving together for over a century.", Victoria continued.
"How long have you been here?", Serenity asked, hoping they wouldn't have to leave soon.
"We moved here about four years ago,  which will work out perfect. By the time the two of you quit glitching, it will be time to move again", Victoria smiled.
"Mom, you said the glitching only lasts a year, what is this six years about!", Liam exclaimed, sounding betrayed.
"Your regular abilities quit glitching after a year, but then at your one year mark you get your special ability. Then it glitches out for a while, until you learn the full extent of it. It can take anywhere from a few months to a few years to control your extra ability. Just depends on what it is, like Syalis can only talk back and forth with one person at a time, so he didn't have to work with his that much. Sean's shield though.", she huffed, "He can do so many different things, it took him almost three years to completely controls his.", Sydney said, shaking her head, "I was in the same training class as the guys, that was long before Victoria was even around. She didn't get here till the eighteenth century, all she did was accidentally heal us; but walking around feeling over rejuvenated all the time was kinda nice", she laughed.
"Training class?", Serenity asked confused.
