The next three months were torcher for Serenity, she had no idea what her power was all she knew was things kept blowing up around her. If Serenity wasn't blowing something up Liam was freezing things or making miniature blizzards every time he got upset.
"I'm going to pack 2 extra phones for you so the next time you blow one up you can just switch out the SIM card." Victoria was helping Serenity finish with her last minute packing.

"Hey Mom, do you know what Aunt Sydney's power is?", Serenity asked

"Well she was born long before any of us, she was an animal drinker and it caused her to never get her powers."

"But doesn't she drink from humans?"

"She does now but she didn't drink human blood until after her first year so she missed her chance to have an extra power.", Mom explained as she zipped Serenity's bag.

"How does this school work?", she asked, Serenity had been freaking out a bit.

"Well you get up at about 9 and classes don't start until noon and after 7 your free to go hunt and roam the local area. Vampires don't like being controlled all that much so they just have classes and let everyone be. So long as you don't destroy anything or get into fights you'll be fine."Serenity fiddled with the end of her hair thinking about how new everything would be.

Seeing her grim expression, Victoria wrapped her arms around her daughter, "I know how hard this is we all went through it", she gave Serenity a sad half smile. "The fear of leaving everything behind after just getting settled, but I promise anytime you want, I'll be right there."

"Thanks Mom, I love you", Serenity said as bloody tears began to flow down her face.

"What's going on here?", Syalis asked as he walked through the door.

As he sat down Serenity crawled into his lap like a little kid, wiping the tears off of her face, before she cuddled her face in his chest. He sat there patting her back for a few minutes, but as they always do the moment passed and it was time to leave.

They met the rest of the family shortly after they left the house. "We will be traveling a long distance so we need to transform for the journey. Ren I know you have been having trouble, but try to keep calm. That goes for you to Liam, we don't need any random blizzards.", Sean said looking each of the kids over. Serenity closed her eyes taking a deep breath of the cool night air. Her eyes began to tingle, her fingers began to hurt, and her teeth elongated to points. Fully transformed, Serenity opened her eyes, the sounds of small creachers filled her ears and all the details of the trees became clear. As they ran the world slowed to a crawl, making it easy to swing and jump through the mountain forests.
They traveled close to the ocean because the school was somewhere near Vancouver. "We are supposed to meet at the northern edge of town", Victoria stated as they reached the city limits.
As they got to the north side of town, a short, slender man wearing a purple shirt ushered them to a large warehouse. The building was filled with vampires of all ages and races.
"I guess it never occurred to me that there would be people here that are older.", Liam stated nervously taking an extra interest in his shoes.
"Ya, but most of the people will be your age.", Sydney cooed.
An older dark complected man with gold eyes walked out onto a raised floor, "May I please have everyone's attention. If you are a second year, you know what to do and where to go. Goodbye and I'll see you out hunting." About half the people left, leaving about twenty people behind. "As for the rest of you, equal yourselves among the people with the purple polos they will lead you to the school, where our headmaster will let everyone know this evening's schedule."
Everyone grabbed a person and began to leave. The older man jumped off the platform and landed right beside Sean. "Chucky! How have you been, haven't seen you in like a hundred years.", Sean said slapping the man on the back.
"Oh, you know training the little monsters.", he said rolling his excited eyes with a huge smile."Follow me the show waits for no one", he said throwing his hands in the air dramatically. They followed him into the mountains west of Vancouver.
Shortly thereafter they ran through a dense forest, behind it was a large valley landscape, with a mansion built into the cliff face on one side with a river going through the bottom. They crossed a rope bridge covered by fog that crept along the edges of the valley. If she hadn't been undead Serenity would have thought she had died and gone to heaven.
"Down there is a tunnel where they do shadow  training", Chucky said pointing straight down. "And on the other side of the mansion is a meadow where most of the kids do their studying, and at the top of this mountain is a forest area where we have war games."
"War games?", her dad inquired.
"Ya, they are new. Pretty much the kids all go out with and play hide and seek tag in the dark. First years play the 25th of the month and the second years play on the 10th of the month."
"What about my problem?", Liam asked referring to the ice trail.
"All the dorms and classrooms have tile flooring so that won't be a problem."
"Ren you don't have to worry about things exploding either, that kinda thing happens here a lot.", her mom joked as they walked into the main hall.
It was a large ballroom with tables covering the edges of the room. Every all took seats, as a beautiful, tall, woman began to introduce herself from a stage in the corner.
"Hello, I am Headmistress Flowers. Now I know most of the parents here tonight have come here before, but for those of you who don't know. Tonight we take on the town and tomorrow we start training. We sent out packets with maps, room numbers and schedules, if you don't have something see me after this.
Parents semester ends the last Saturday in November and the second semester starts the second Sunday of January. Now please, drop your luggage in the dorms and have a nice night, classes begin at noon tomorrow.", and with a smile she walked off the stage.
"Man…. Daisy has been the headmaster forever.", Sean ducked his face into his hands.
"And all the stupid things we did while we were here", her dad groaned laughing. Her parents took her to the  dorms, it was built into the side of the cliff under the main building, each floor had their own bathroom and balcony. Walking down the steps on the girls side to find room 4, which was on the lowest floor. Serenity opened the door to find none other then Jade.
"Omg Ren", Jade screamed as she hugged her, "When I didn't pass my final test last year, I was scared I would get stuck with someone I didn't know." They had gotten to know each other before she had gone to school the previous year. She would come over a talk about books with Serenity or to have sleepovers.
"Don't be too happy, things around me keep blowing up", Serenity joked.
"I'm cool with that as long as you don't mind my nocturnal friends", she joked back.
"Wait what is your power?", Syalis asked.
"Oh! I can control nocturnal animals.", Jade smirked.
"So where is Malori", Victoria asked Jade while they unpacked.
"My parents took my brother to college I have done this three times before, so I told them I would be fine", Jade explained as Victoria handed Serenity her schedule.

Serenity J. Schedule

10:00AM Study Hall
12:00 S.A.T. Prep
1:00PM Ability Training
7:30PM Hunting
9:00 PM Night Games/Free time
YOU MUST BE HOME AND IN YOUR DORM BY 12 PM EVERY NIGHT.
Classes end when the teachers dismiss you, some days classes may last till the next class begins.
"We have the same schedule", Jade said throwing herself on her bed. "They divide schedules between the dorms, they only have 2 different schedules. The dorms directly above us will have the same schedule. The second years live in a two dorm house a mile away from here."
"Hey Jade would you like to hunt with us, or do you have previous arrangements.", Serenity's mom asked from the doorway.
"That sounds great, I'm starved", Jade said hopping off her bed.
Syalis and Sydney were waiting on one of the many plank walkways that connected all the dorms. The walkways were simple plank boards barely wide enough for two people to pass. To make things worse the path had no rails. Come to think of it the only railing Serenity seen so far was on the rope bridge.
Right as they reached her dad, Liam walked out of the dorm nextdoor flurries of excited snow fluttered around his midnight hair. A rather large amount of snow twisted around his head, agitated he attempted to blow the snow away. Instead of going away the snow became heavier and burst out into the valley leaving a frozen reside across all the paths and dorms surrounding us.
Our family and Jade dusted off the frost as Liam apologised profusely.
"Will you stop saying your sorry and calm down your flurries are getting thicker.", Sydney joked.
"At least snow is harmless, when I get upset thing start to explode.", Serenity complained.
"So you still cannot figure out what's making your powers glitch like that?", Jade asked still shaking the snow out of her short blond hair
"No, we don't even know what my powers are, dad says that it could be anything", she replied exasperated.
"Don't worry, my parents didn't even think I had a power until this past summer break. By then I had some control over the animals that were following me everywhere.", she grinned pointing to a window where an owl was perched.
Once they were all outside Jade lead them to Vancouver. When they got to the edge of town Jade leaped onto the nearest building.
"It would probably be best if we split into two groups so we don't attract attention.", Jade offered, pulling her short hair into a half ponytail.
"Sounds good to me", Victoria said crouching on the roof.
"Do you kids want to hunt with Jade or come with us?", Sydney asked.
"Should be fun" Serenity grinned at Jade.
The younger vampires headed further into the city while their parents skirted south, most likely heading home after they eat.
"I want to take you to this place some of my classmates and I found last year." Jade giggled, "We call it the farmers market."
After a few minutes of jumping through shadows we came to a large alley with brick building that were at least 5 stories high. In the ally prostitutes and underground casinos were in full swing also you could hear the music coming one of the buildings... most likely a rave going on.
"What is this place?"Liam asked practically salivating at the amount of humans, his mouth half hanging open with a funny grin on his face.  He leaned over the edge of the building crouching his tall frame so his fingertips rested against the outside of the brick wall.
Jade giggled and pointed at Liam, "And that is why we call it the farmers market."
Serenity's face broke into a huge smile, "Lead the way oooh great one." She mock bowed waving into the alley.
"Just a couple things before we go down. One: this entire alleyway is owned by vampires and witches so dispose of the bodies or you will get us in tons of trouble with the school. Two: you can jump straight into the middle if you want the whole area is spelled; fireproof and humans can't see our weird stuff here, so things like Liam's snow don't be weird for the humans." with that said she leaped into the alley shortly followed by Liam and Serenity.
Jade lead them to the building having the rave the bodyguard went to stop us but Jade smiled, "Hey, Justin don't tell me you forgot me in 3 months."
The mans glare became one of shock, "Boo?. Wow you got so big I couldn't recognize you.", he said pulling Jade into a hug.
"Liam, Serenity this is my oldest sibling.", she smiled. "He actually owns this place.", Jade waved her arms at the club.
"I just prefer playing the door man.", he grinned, "I like knowing who comes and goes from my place."
Inside was obnoxiously loud, but the amount of hot body's instantly made Serenity's mind go foggy from thirst. She ventured to a darker corner grabbing a person at random. She made small talk with the short shy girl before pulling her through a backdoor. Snapping her neck and draining her, burning her body just as her dad had taught her.
After she fed her mind was much clearer and she returned to the alley to wait for Liam and Jade. Once out front Serenity found Jade leaning on a wall talking to a guy who was almost 7  feet tall and had a gladius sword hung on his back that nearly touched to ground.
"Hey Ren, this is Tiny he is our ability training teacher. Tiny this is Ren she is my new room mate this year."
"Nice to meet you. Any idea what your power is yet."Tiny asked in a surprisingly high pitched voice.
"Ya she can make stuff explode", Liam shouts as he came out of the rave covered in paint and confetti blood still dripping down his cheek. He pointed behind him, "In one of the other rooms they had paint drums and there was shredded paper and glitter just flying through the air." As he got to them he collapsed his weight over Serenity.
"Did you at least make them forget", she asked exasperated his weight not even phasing her.
"Well duh!" He exclaimed tiredly, climbing onto her back, his long legs hanging over her hips.
"Ya I don't know what my power is exactly just that stuff sometimes explodes into nothing at random times. Also this is my cousin Liam", Serenity nodded her head at the half asleep boy. Small snowflakes began to fall around them as he hung on her back.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Liam eats too much and tries to passes out; because of his snow problem he has a hard time getting dinner all the time.", she smiled  good naturedly at Tiny.
"Oh I get it we have lots of students like him who can't conceal their powers, makes hunting hard that's why the school made a deal with this place so our students can hunt freely. Get a good night's rest cause we start early around the school."
Jade and Serenity ran back to the school, Serenity texted her mom to let them know they were safe back at the dorms, as Liam drunkenly stumbled to his own dorm.
Jade and Serenity returned to their room, Serenity showered and changed into PJs, the bathroom had some stalls and a huge tub with filter pumps to preserve water. When she got back to their room the door  was open to the balcony wear Jade had made a nest of blankets and pillows on one side where she was reading a book out loud to some owls, fireflies, other small nocturnal animals. Serenity collapsed into bed listening to the soothing sounds of Jade reading to her little friends. What a great day she thought, school will be definitely something else.
