Taehyung was nervous.
He looked around slowly, his eyes wide and his mind alert.
Today he was going back to his company. They’d sent him a letter, welcoming him with open arms. After the tragedy with his family, his company had offered to pay for his medical bills and such.
But Taehyung had refused, and left.
They had been overjoyed when he’d come back, and Taehyung was glad to be back, albeit a little scared.
Baekhyun was waiting for him at the inner doors.
Taehyung hadn’t seen him for ages, and he found himself running and falling into the man’s arms. “I’m so proud of you.” The man whispered. “I’m so glad you’re doing this. You deserve this, Tae. You deserve every bit of it.” Taehyung managed to nod, swallowing down the tears that were threatening to fall from his eyes. “Where’s Jungkook?” Baekhyun finally asked, looking at the doors.
But Taehyung shook his head. “Wanted to come alone...today.” Taehyung admitted, letting out a shy smile. Baekhyun smiled back down at him, nodding in understanding.
“And there no shame in that. So much has changed! Come on. Some of the fans have gotten word of your comeback, and the internet is already exploding, Taehyung. Old videos of you are resurfacing and it seems you never even disappeared. Except this time you’re so much more famous.” Baekhyun made a face and Taehyung managed to giggle, looking down shyly.
“I don’t understand why people always liked me so much.”
“Are you kidding!? It’s because you’re beautiful! Cute, adorable, charming, everything an idol, should be, and not to mention your voice and dance skills! What’s not to love about you?”
“A lot, actually.” Baekhyun sighed and looked around, turning to Taehyung and gripping both of his shoulders.
“Stop it.” He finally said, looking straight into Taehyung’s eyes. “Stop it, right now. You are not worthless, and you will never be worthless, and you never were worthless. You are human, Taehyung, and you are allowed to have weaknesses. Idols are not perfect, people are not perfect, so do not hold yourself to becoming perfect, and do not hold it over yourself that you’re not. It’s not a bad thing, because if it was, then you wouldn’t be you.”
Taehyung managed to nod, looking down at the ground. “People love you because you’re you, Taehyung, not because you’re some perfect person with no problems. You’re beautiful, just the way you are, and don’t let anybody ever tell you otherwise, got it?”
Taehyung nodded once more and Baekhyun led him down the hall. “PD him wishes to see you. He wants to show you something.” Taehyung nodded and they entered an office. Taehyung felt himself nearly tearing up once more at the sight of his old ceo.
“Taehyung, my boy. Welcome back.” The man was as kind as ever, pulling the man into a hug and comfortingly rubbing his back, smiling brightly. They all took a seat and the man turned to his computer, clicking on something before turning the screen so that they could all see it. “Do you remember this?” Taehyung watched, wide eyed as a familiar video played. He nodded slowly. “We were thinking...we could still use it? Of course, you were always the musical genius, and if you wanted to do something different—“
“No.” Taehyung whispered. “No, I want to do this.” The man smiled even brighter and nodded.
“Excellent! We’ll get you in the recording studio as soon as we can, we have a choreography team all ready for you, as well as a vocal coach, I heard that you’re still in the process of therapy, and our staff is very qualified to help you through these final stages. We also have a stylist team at the ready.”
