Third Person POV

"You fucked up real bad." Was the first thing Jimin said when he walked into base.

Jungkook looked up from the papers in his hand. Yoongi and Namjoon were standing around, and they too, looked up when Jimin entered.

"I know."

"Like, it's really bad. I don't think you do know." Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not gonna tell you." Jimin said. "You should find out for yourself. I just wanted you to know that you fucked up really bad."

"Well, he did slap me."

"You deserve more than a slap. I'm surprised he didn't kick you in your family jewels. Although I don't think he'd care enough to."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't think I've ever seen someone give up quite like Taehyung has. I'm pretty sure the only reason he's alive is because his neighbors are being paid to watch him."

"He's on suicide watch?"

"Big time. Like, I thought he was going to just go into the bathroom and slit his wrists with me still there. It's pretty bad." Jungkook looked away and ground his jaw together.

He stood from his desk and walked out the office, leaving the others in his office.

"Way to ruin his day."

Jimin shrugged. "After seeing what I saw, I can't bring myself to feel bad."

"Was it really that bad?"

"He literally told me his deepest darkest secrets when I asked. He doesn't care anymore."

"Who is this guy, anyway?"

"Jungkook's ex lover, I'm guessing? They had a bunch of pictures together that seemed to be from high school.

"I see."

"It seems as if Jungkook's old street gang did something to the boy and Jungkook had already left to form this syndicate."

"So basically it is Jungkook's fault."

"Yup." Jimin shrugged and turned. "I'm gonna go. That shit was way too depressing for me." Jimin left.

Meanwhile, Jungkook was getting into his car and driving away from the base. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew he needed to blow some steam.

He drove around for hours, not really having a destination in mind.

Finally, he pulled up to a random street and got out, looking around.

Maybe a walk would make him feel a little better. He ignored the slightly frigid air and walked away from his vehicle, taking a stroll down the street.

He'd probably been walking for about an hour when he spotted someone familiar.

Painstakingly familiar.

Taehyung was walking down the street, on his way home from work. He didn't have a coat, he couldn't afford one, plus he didn't care enough, anyway.

Jungkook watched him as he recklessly crossed the street, not even looking for oncoming traffic, which there thankfully was none.

Jungkook followed Taehyung, keeping a healthy distance between them.

Millions of things were going through Jungkook's mind.

The main thing being...

Have you really given up?

Jungkook got his answer less than two seconds later.

Two men came out from the shadows. They trailed behind Taehyung and weren't exactly quiet about it.

Jungkook knew who these men were.

Not specifically them personally, but he knew what they did.

They were sex traffickers.

More specifically, the men who prowled the streets at night for random men and women to sell on the black market as sex slaves and prostitutes.

Jungkook waited for Taehyung to turn and run.

Do anything.

The men were making noisie to scare him, try and make him run or react in some way.

But Taehyung merely walked on, at the same pace.

The men reached Taehyung in no time.

They cornered him and started saying lewd things in his ear about what they were going to do to him.

Jungkook felt his blood boil at those words.

He felt his blood boiling more, the more he watched.

But it wasn't at the men, targeting Taehyung.

It wasn't at Taehyung, who stood there, doing nothing.

It was at himself.

It was at himself for the lifeless look in Taehyung's eyes.

The refusal to be scared, simply because he couldn't be, because he'd already gone through the worst thing he possibly could and he had nothing left to lose.

He was angry at himself for allowing the love of his life to grow so...lifeless.

Taehyung wasn't reacting to the men.

And Jungkook could see that it was starting to piss them off.

"Say something, you cunt." One them snarled, slapping Tae across the face.

Jungkook snapped at the next words Taehyung spoke.

"If you're going to take me, take me. If you're going to use me, use me. Stop wasting your time."

Stop wasting your time.

Jungkook almost crumbled to his knees.

But he couldn't.

The men grabbed a cloth, no doubt filled with chloroform and knocked Taehyung out.

Jungkook reached them soon after and brought out his gun, stealthily killing the two men before picking up Taehyung and walking back towards his car.
