This is for catship because she makes me feel appreciated 😔✌️

The swaying of the ship was making Devin sick. He leaned over the side of the ship again, throwing up what was once lunch. He wasn't sure how people could stand this.
He felt a warm hand on his back, and he looked to his right to see Shane, the leader of the Redcloaks and one of his closest friends, standing beside him.
"You get used to it after a while." Shane said, rubbing circles on the younger boy's back.
"I highly doubt that." Devin responded weakly, panting.
"I don't necessarily like it either."
Devin looked to his left to see Karmo approaching them, shoving his bird mask into his cloak pocket. The fabric had several rips in it. "Good eve'nun." Devin greeted him, just as the ship tilted again. He whirled around again, just in time.
"That doesn't look too great." Karmo chuckled, leaning forward onto the railing.
"Was it supposed to look pretty?" Devin snorted.
"How has the ship been treating you, Karmo?" Shane broke in, turning to face the Niloan boy.
"Like any other rickety old ship," Karmo shrugged, "my opinion on them never differs."
"They're horrible." Devin spoke up, crossing his arms.
"After a while of having to be on them," Shane sighed, "they get a bit better."
"A bit does not sound promising."
"You're being such a lowlife." Karmo elbowed Devin's side lightly.
Devin grunted. The three shared a comfortable silence for a minute.
"What would it be like to live as a fish?" Devin said suddenly, staring down into the moving water below.
"Boring. Imagine doing nothing but eating for your entire life." Karmo replied.
"That's what I've been doing." Devin joked, grinning proudly.
Shane laughed, loudly, covering his mouth.
Devin and Karmo turned to him in shock.
  "He can laugh-"
"You find this idiot funny?" Karmo blinked.
"Everyone thinks I'm funny, Karmo, you're just a loser." Devin sniffed, lightly shoving him. The two started to bicker, fighting to talk over each other.
Shane watched them with a smile. "You two act like little children more than you realize."
Devin and Karmo glared at each other one last time before returning to normal.
Another few seconds of silence. They looked up at the stars and moon, down at the ink black ocean, only shining when the moon shared its light with it.
"I love you guys." Shane said quietly. He stared down at his hands, which were fidgeting awkwardly.
The other boys glanced at each other in surprise. They then looked over at Shane again.
"We love you too, Shane." Devin replied gently.
Shane let out a relieved sigh. He had merely blurted it out, he wasn't sure how they'd react.
"I'm going to sleep." He announced. Almost on cue, he yawned.
"Even kings need their rest." Karmo nodded.
Shane shrugged. "Goodnight." He began to walk off, listening to the two say their little goodnights.
"Don't let the bed bugs bite." He heard Devin call after him.
  "Or the piranhas." Karmo added.
The last thing Shane heard before he was out of ear shot was the two boys snickering.
