As the make-over was completed, Ava had already got the camera ready. She had tried to keep it as quiet as possible, but failed miserably. Khaibi had declined the foundation, Myst had persisted but Khaibi had won in the end, much to the annoyance of her sister.
"Come on, Khaibi," Myst sang as she danced out of the doorway and slid down the banister, just to get down there faster.
As Khaibi made her way downstairs she suddenly remembered that she did not have a gift for the birthday girl, this fact made her feel even more glum than usual.
"Don't worry," Markus said as he drifted to her side form the shadows. It appeared that he already knew her thoughts. She really shouldn't be surprised anymore.
A small box was pressed into her hands as a photo was taken showing her and her father exchanging loving expressions despite what they really looked like, like monsters.
"Ack! I'm going to be late!" Khaibi cried as she rushed to the door, hugging her sister and parents as she dashed outside to find the Ferrari waiting for her.
"Wait for me," Myst called as she ran out of the door in a tight black dress that barely concealed her slim figure, accompanied by impossibly high sleek black stiletto heels that made a very loud 'clack' every step of the way.
"Why?" Khaibi asked as she gawped at what her sister was wearing.
"So you can one: switch shoes with me so you'll look even more fabulous, and two: I'm driving," Myst explained as she waved a set of keys in front of her sister's nose.
Khaibi faintly grumbled as she switched shoes with Myst, but she did have to admit she did look fabulous, and then got into the car and let her sister drive her to the party. Though she did notice that she didn't tell Myst where it was being held, but Myst seemed to know the way. Typical her sister was as nosy as ever.
As they arrived Khaibi saw everyone stop and stare at the cherry red Ferrari that was pulling up to the hall.
"Khaibi, Khaibi, over here!" Tony yelled over the noise as he frantically hopped up and down to be seen in the crowd of smartly dressed teenagers that were closely compacted into one ginormous group at the front of the hall.
"Tony!" Khaibi called back, excitedly, as she elegantly and gracefully exited the Ferrari, hugged her sister goodbye and walked to join Tony.
"I'll be getting a ride back with Tony. He'll drop me home," Khaibi called, back to Myst, as she entered the hall with Tony.
"What are you doing here?" Lacy ambushed Khaibi, with a fierce glare on her face, as she stepped one foot over the door way.
"I came here with Tony and I wanted to wish you a happy birthday," Khaibi said confidently and in a fake happy tone that no human would see through as she produced the small box her father had given her before she had left.
"Oh, you got that for me?" Lacy asked, surprised that Khaibi had bothered with a gift but suspicious at the same time. She did hate her after all.
"Yes, open it up, I'm sure everyone is dying to see what I've got you," Khaibi said with fake enthusiasm while encouraging Lacy to open it.
As lacy opened the box a small bracelet was visible, it had little jewels all over it that Khaibi immediately recognised as diamonds and the bracelet chain was make of solid 9k gold and it sparkled in the strobe lighting of the disco.
"Oh, how pretty," Lacy mumbled to herself as she put the bracelet on and admired it and began to walk off and called over her shoulder, "Don't think this changes anything, outsider. But you're welcome to stay."
