Khaibi awoke to the sound of her family chatting loudly in the kitchen.
"Oooh, my head. What happened?"
"Mistress, you underwent some of the changes to your powers that are to happen on your birthday," Iniq trotted up with Khaibi's school bag.
"Alright, let me brush my hair and get my sunglasses and I'll..." Khaibi froze as she looked in the mirror, "Is that me?"
As Khaibi walked down stairs she was greeted with the fuss of her mother and her sister. Her father just sat in the chair knowingly.
"Khaibi are you alright? Why are you wearing your sunglasses indoors?" Ava asked as she prepared Khaibi a drink.
"No reason, it's just..." Khaibi began but got no further before Myst rushed past and snatched them off her face. This made Khaibi growl her disapproval.
"What happened to your eyes?" Myst asked as Khaibi glared at her.
"Once a vampire reaches their 16th birthday their true eyes come through. This is interesting though, yours are rare indeed," Markus piped up from the chair in which he sat, reading the paper. Not letting on to how much concern he had.
"Yes, one is white, the other violet," Khaibi explained, "I now feel that I don't have to wear my sunglasses in class anymore, but will carry them on me anyway."
As Khaibi walked to school she was not surprised to find Iniq trotting after her. When she arrived she was met with some curious stares, but she could not have cared less what they thought. Her mind was not on school at all.

"Khaibi?" Tony waked straight up to her, not avoiding her as normal.
"Why today? What is so special about today?" Khaibi thought as she looked up from her book.
"Hey, I just wanted to see of you were alright," Tony said, sitting down next to her, aware that Iniq was still with her, did he follow her everywhere now?
However Khaibi could hear what he really thought as she had discovered earlier that morning that she had that power.
"Ha, she does not suspect a thing. I'm just scoping out her powers, until I find the best way to eliminate her," Tony thought as he smiled at her, "What happened to your eyes?"
"This is what they really look like, they were only red because of the eye condition I had," Khaibi snapped.
"Hey, I was only asking," Tony held his hands up as if he was surrendering.
"Why don't you just drop the act, Tony?" Khaibi hissed. Beside her Iniq growled.
"So you know, how? No, that doesn't matter. You killed my sister, for that I will never forgive you as long as I live," Tony spat at her. Khaibi knew he was lying, he didn't really mean that he'd never forgive her. Tara's death just took its toll on him, at least that's what Khaibi told herself as she stared him straight in the face.
"Why are you doing this, Tony? From what I can see, you have a choice; you are not being forced to do anything. Did our past friendship mean nothing to you?" Khaibi asked, still glaring up at him.
"It means nothing to me now," Tony said harshly as he fumbled in his coat pocket.
"What are you...?" Khaibi just about managed to start before seeing a brief flash, a vision of him throwing a liquid, which she could only guess was holy water, at her. And expertly dodging it when he did throw it.
"Damn, missed," Tony cursed as he put the lid on the bottle, "I guess that you are not willing to surrender quietly."
"What the Hell?" Khaibi yelled resisting the temptation to wipe the Holy water from her clothes. Luckily it had not soaked through.
