Lunch time was here and as usual Khaibi was alone. She was thinking about the upcoming trip. It was scheduled for their next R.S lesson which was Monday.

"I need my father help, they'll suspect something if I do not go into the church with everyone else." Khaibi mumbled to herself as she drank the blood from her bottle.

As she sat there Khaibi could feel someone watching her.

"I simply can't ignore the fact that a vampire is roaming free in a school," Dean muttered darkly as he watched her from across the yard, "I must put a stop to her if the society will allow."

This is the usual attitude that he took towards her now. This animosity had become the norm between them over the past few days.

"Well, I suppose being early to class won't hurt," Khaibi said glumly as she shoved her bottle into her bag and trudged inside.

Meanwhile with Myst:

"Why do you insist upon following me?" Myst asked Charles for the fifth time that afternoon.

"Because I want you to tell me about my past," was the simple answer.

"Well, alright. If you really want to know," Myst sighed as she sat on the sofa after having just returned home from work.

"Thank you."

"So what is it that you want to know?" Myst asked as she took off her shoes and went to make a drink.

Khaibi had just come home from school at this point and Myst knew it.

"I want to know who I was and why you chose me," Charles sat down and stared at Myst.

"When your name was picked out of a long list that we had accumulated, we called you in for an interview," Myst began, not telling him how the list was gathered.

"So I showed up," Charles interrupted.

"Look, you want to know what happened so kindly stop interrupting me," Myst said, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

"Sorry, continue."

"So anyway, yes you did turn up and then we proceeded to tell you everything about the process and what it would involve," Myst sighed.

"And I agreed, just like that?"

"Will you quit interrupting me, I'm beginning to lose my temper!" Myst yelled.

"Well get on with it then," Wendal folded his arms.

"As I was saying, you did agree. We asked you your reasoning for volunteering for this experiment as there was a high chance that it would fail. You decided that it was best to take the risk rather than live the rest of your life feeling like you didn't belong, like you were incomplete. We than began the procedure. We started with the injections, you barely reacted to those so we upped the dosage," Myst continued as she looked down into the cup of tea that she had made previously.

"What happened then? Did I react to the increased dosage?" Charles asked eagerly.

"Yes. It was promising at first but then it began to go wrong," Myst's voice croaked and she began to cry.

"What happened?" Charles seized Myst by the shoulders and shook her, causing her to drop the tea.

"We had to contain you. You began to attack all those in your sight. It wasn't safe anymore. Once contained you calmed down a little. That's when Mr Ghoul's men arrived. They claimed we had broken the treaty between our kinds they broke the locks that held you in place. They didn't realise that while you were contained the process had been completed. They wandered into battle blind, and you know the result," Myst finished, "now if you'll excuse me, I wish to be alone."
