Chapter 2 (Getting him)

Mackenzie's pov

We pulled up to my dads friends house. We parked on his driveway and climbed out of the truck. After walking around the ranch for a few minutes, we finally found Michael. Apparently Michael knew what was going on and turned around telling my father and I to follow him. "Hey Mack would you mind taking Agapeto to his stall?" "Sure" I said as Michael handed me Agapeto's lead  rope.

Agapeto was a very easy horse, he was gental with both kids and adults. I took him to his stall and unclipped his lead rope from his halter. I put them away and walked towards Bells stall, another one of Michaels horses.

I pet her nose then went to my dad. Michael and my dad were just finishing a hand shake and they turned towards me. "Mack, follow Micheal he's going  to give you something" "kay" I said. My dad followed. He made it sound so interesting the way he said it.

Micheal went into the barn were the tack was and everything no horses. We walked farther down until we saw a stall. We walked towards it and inside it was a mare, and the stall right next to it was another horse that looked to be 18 months. I gasped and reached my hand over the gate and gently pet the horses soft nose.

My dad pulled out his wallet to give Michael $2,000. " No," Micheal said. "have him for free" I didn't understand it at first until they told me. They both got the gelding and strapped a halter on him and clipped a lead rope to it and took it to the trailer. "There you go Mack" "What do you mean" "There's your horse" "Thats my horse" "Yeah" I grew speechless I gave both my dad and Michael a hug. I got in the truck and let the dogs in after. My dad shook hands with Michael and got in the truck.

We got home and I immediatly got out and ran for the trailer. I got the gelding out and brought him to an empty stall. Faith and I sat on the hay stack next to the stall. I thought of names but I couldn't get the right one for him. A name poped in my head the name was Dexter. I kissed Dexter and fell asleep on the haystack.
