Mack's pov

I woke up from my dad shaking me. "Wake up Mack you got a letter" I shot up and grabbed the letter and opened it. The letter read, "Dear Mackenzie Virdez, I am proud to tell you and your horse Angel that you have entered the race. The race starts next month so be prepared and ready. We say that you practice twice a day. Your number is 37 and we will give you 5 tickets. We will be seeing you next month. Good luck Mackenzie"

I looked at my dad and grinned. "IM IN THE RACE" I shouted. I gave him a huge hug and ran downstairs to Angels stall. Before I got outside my dad called me. "Mack" "What" "Come here". I ran to my dads room and saw him pull out a picture. "This is you riding my old horse Arthur when you were 7, now your almost 14" my dad said. (Thats the pic on the top) I smiled and said "well I'm a great rider" And someday you'll be the world champion" my dad said. I smiled as he messed up my hair.

I went to my room and changed into riding clothes then brushed my teeth and hair then got shoes on then ran to Angels stall. Once I got there I saw Jade riding Jack. I smiled then went to Angels stall. I opened the stall door and got his lead rope and halter on then walked him to the tack room. I put the blanket on after brushing him then saddle and buckled it under Angel. Then removed the lead rope and halter then put the bridal on. I put my foot in the stirrup then lifted myself up onto the saddle. I steered Angel to the paddock where Jade was. " Want to race" I asked Jade.

" Isn't it obvious you'll win" " Well it's training for Angel. P.S. ride another horse like Sage" " Fine" Jade climbed off Jack and took off the tack. Then she went to get Sage and tack her up. After she met me outside the stables and we both got in ready position. "Go" I shouted. The horses blasted off and next thing we new we were racing. Sage turned out to be really fast. Angel got in the lead and won. I was happy because he was a really fast horse. " what do you want to do now Jade?" I asked. "I don't know there's not that much to do around here except ride the horses." I checked the time reading 7:39 p.m. I went to take a shower and go to bed
