Chapter 6 ( Show compition ruined by Nevaeh)

Mackenzies pov

I was eating dinner with Jade, my dad, and Michael. I got done and ate dessert. Jade and I got done and went up to my room followed by Carlos and some other pups. We sat on my bed and talked about the horses and the compitition tomorrow. Jack her horse was in the extra stall.

My dad called Jade and I from downstairs. We got up and ran towards the railing and said "What". " Do you girls want to go midnight riding with Michael and I?" my dad asked. I looked at Jade and back at my dad. I nodded my head and ran to my room and got my boots on.

I already had my breeches and shirt on to ride so I was okay. Jade got her shoes on and already had her riding clothes on. We ran downstairs to meet my dad and Michael. They both walked out before Jade and I. I ran to Thunder's stall and got him. I hooked his lead rope to his halter and took him to the grooming area.

It was December 23 so it was close to Christmas and new year. Dexter was about a yearling. But I did not want to ride him until he was a full yearling. I put a blanket on Dexter to keep him warm considering it might snow tonight. My dad came out with Nick and Jade came out with Jack and Michael came out with Agapeto.

We all walked our horses. We did not want them to run. Thunder was very relaxed, he shook his head a couple times because of the stupid flies. We rode for about an hour and then we went home.

We dropped off Michael and my dad talked to Jade and I about the compitition and how we need sleep for it.

When we got there I put Thunder away and Jade put Jack away in the spare stall. We walked inside letting my dad put Nick away. We went upstairs to my room and I changed in my bathroom and after she changed in the bathroom.

We talked about who we are riding and she was of course riding Jack and I was riding Thunder. I wanted to ride Angel but not yet and he wasn't trained.

We both fell asleep after that conversation we had.

I woke up and saw Jade already in her uniform for the compitition. I got out of bed and went downstairs to eat. I ate some waffles and sausage. Then I went back upstairs and took a shower while Jade practiced outside on Jack.

After I got dressed in my uniform and put my hair in a tight but low bun and got my boots on. I stood up and went downstairs. The pups follow and so did Carlos. I got to the barn and said 'hi' to Dexter. I get his halter and his lead rope on and lead him to the pasture. I saw Jade riding Jack and going over some obstacles.

I went back to the barn and got Thunder nice and groomed. I bathed him and brushed his coat. I tacked him up and climbed on. I rode towards Jade and we smiled at each other basically saying 'let's race' I got in ready position and counted to 3 and we blasted off racing.

It was a tie then my dad called us to put the horses in the trailer.

Then we went to the compitition. It was an hour drive. Once we got there we took the horses out of the trailer and brushed them again. Jade was going against the 'popular girl' and I was going against the 'popular boy'. Apparently people think they are popular...not us.

I was up. I looked at Jonas the 'popular boy' and sighed. He smirked in a evil way. I rolled my eyes and got in ready position. The bell went off and Thunder ran to the first jump. People cheered behind us. Thunder went a little faster than Jonas.

I ran across the finish line before Jonas's horse Hunter. I smiled and they gave Thunder a ribbon and a medal to me. Next up was Jade and Nevaeh. I smiled at Jade and gave Jack some courage. I patted his thick neck and hugged Jade. My dad gave her a hug and patted Jacks neck.

Jade moved Jack up to the starting line. Nevaeh moved towards the starting line as well. I closely watched Nevaeh and made sure nothing bad happened. The bell went off causing the horses to run. A few minutes later Nevaeh started getting closer to Jade. I slowly moved Thunder up a little just in case.

Nevaeh crashed into Jade and pushed her off. Jade was getting dragged by Jack. I gave Thunder a gentle kick on his flanks causing him to run and he caught up to them. People yelled at me to stay away but I didn't listen. I stopped Jack and helped Jade. I put her back on Jack and looked at Nevaeh.

Mackenzie and Nevaeh's convo

M- Why did you do this

N-Because she deserves it

M-What did Jade ever do to you

N-She... She....

M-Exactly she didn't do anything... Nevaeh, why did you do this

N- Because Jade she is always nice and she has a beautiful horse and it runs fast. She will always be loved by the person who is there for her.

M- Yeah... Nevaeh you did this to Jade all those bruises and scratch marks there from you

N-I know I feel bad...Jade Im so sorry

J- I dont know Im all scratched up and brusied

N- Don't forgive me...just let me explain

J-.......

N- So ever since we were five you always got the good horses, every compitition we had...you would always win. I guess I just wanted to win and make you lose

J-Yeah and Nevaeh you made me look horrible out there

N-I know just please forgive me

J-As long as you won't hurt anyone again then I'm okay

N-Thanks

. I told Nevaeh and Jade to follow me. They followed as we rode towards Micheal. We all dismounted our horses and my dad held the reins. I got Angel and showed them. He was taller than me now. But still a yearling. Nevaeh and Jade laughed as they pet Angel.

I smiled and we got on our horses and we went to the trailer and put Jack and Thunder away. "I'll see you two later bye" Nevaeh said. "Bye" Jade and I said. I put Angel in the trailer and we went home.

We washed up and ate dinner. It was 6:18 when we got there. We rode then ate dessert and took showers and went to bed.
