Chapter 8 ( going camping )

Mackenzie's Pov

I woke up and rubbed my eyes. I got up and went downstairs while Jade slept. I didn't know how long Jade was going to stay at my house. But all I knew was her mom was in the war and no one was home with her. My dad was sitting on the couch with Faith's head on his lap. I walked over and sat next to my dad.

He sighed and spoke "Mack we are going camping today with Micheal. Jade is staying with us for a year so she is coming camping with us to. Now go get ready and eat then go decide on what horses your bringing. But also get Nick in the trailer to." My dad said. " What time are we leaving " I asked. "11:00 so go get Jade real quick and both of you girls need to get ready" "Okay.

I went to eat breakfast and went upstairs and got ready in my bathroom. I put my hair up and woke up Jade. I told her we were going camping and she was staying here for a year. She stretched and went to the bathroom and changed. I went downstairs and put on my boots.

I went outside and ran to the barn. I cleaned off Angel then Nick then Jack. It was 10:54 almost 11. I sat down and saw Micheal pull up with a trailer. He got out and said " You got room for another horse" "I'll check" I said. I counted the stables the horses were in. There was enough room so I told Micheal.

" Come on in there's plenty of room" I said. He nodded and got Poncho out of his trailer, gave him to me, and went home to get his r.v.. His house was about 5 minutes away. My dad came out and put on his hat. " Are they all loaded? Who all did you load?" my dad asked. " I loaded Angel, Nick, Jack, and Poncho...Micheal stopped by he's going home to get the r.v." I said. " Okay" he replied. He got in the truck and I ran inside and got Jade, Faith, Bronko, and the pups.

We both got inside with pups in our laps and Faith in the back with us and Bronko up front with my dad. Micheal came and my dad told him where to go. They got done talking and drove off to the camp.

Once we got there, there were dogs,horses,donkeys all over. My dad parked the car next to Micheals. I got out with Jade and Faith and Bronko did to. The pups couldn't jump so they stayed in the car. My dad set up a pen for the pups while we got the horses out.

Micheal set up the r.v. while my dad walked Poncho out of the trailer. Once Micheal got done putting down the shade. He got Poncho all tacked up and climbed on. I got out Angel and walked him around.

My dad and Jade got their horses out and rode them. I got on Angel and rode him bare back while I had Jade next to me. I went to the trailer and tacked up Angel so it was easier. Once I was done, I got on and rode twords Jade.

We raced twords the forest then back. Kids and teens starred at us and cheered for the race. Angel won the race and people came over and pet his neck. He moved his head up and down basically saying he was happy. I smiled and walked twords the trailer. I let him drink water and eat some carrots.

He happily ate and I saw Jade walking over with Jack. I got up from my chair and walked twords her. We both stopped once we met and I pat Jacks thick neck. I pulled an apple out from my pocket and fed him. "What do you want to do now" Jade asked. "I don't know but we can maybe ride around in the forest or something" "Well something other than ride horses all day"

"We can go to some stores out here" I said "What would we get there" "Well I do need a new bridle and lead rope for Thunder and Angel" "Okay where is that" " It is down the rode a few miles but we can ride the horses, there is stables there though" I said mentioning the word stables "So you want to ride there"

"Yeah" "Okay but do you want your dad to come" "Ummm he canstay but I am going to tell him real fast" "Okay" "Be right back"

I ran to my dad and told him Jade and I were going to a few stores. He didn't notice me because he was in a group of cowboys and cowgirls. I rolled my eyes and told Micheal, he actually listened. He nodded his head and went back to talking withthe group.

I tacked up Angel and Jade tacked up Jack and we rode the horses to the store with Faith and 2 pups. The pups were getting big. They were medium sized now. We rode to the stores and picked up the dogs and set them on so we can run with the horses.

Once we got there, I put Angel in a stall and Jade put Jack in a stall. We walked inside with the dogs. I walked to the horse section and saw lots of bridles, lead ropes, saddles, reins, and lots more. I looked at the bridles and the lead ropes. I picked up a black bridal with gold medal peices. I also got a matching lead rope.

It costed only 15 dollars. I also looked at another for Thunder. It was blue and silver medal peices with a matching lead rope. I bought both of them and walked over to Jade. She was looking at horse saddles. "Are you ready" I asked "Yep are you ready" "Yeah lets go".

We walked out of the store with the dogs. I opened the bag hooked to Angels saddle and put the bridles and lead ropes in them. Then I closed it and led Angel out of the stall. I waited for Jade to get on then I got on. "Anything else you want to do Mack" Jade asked.

"Not that I know of" " Well lets go back to camp its around 5:30"

Once we got there we untacked the horses and put them in the trailer. Then I ate and changed clothes into warm pajamas. I layed in bed for about an hour and fell asleep.
