the sun will rise and so will you
(Kellin's POV)
My alarm blares into my ears, my vision blurry, my heart aches. This memory of my dreams fade, the events a thick fog of what was clear as the stars in the sky.
I was driving, something was happening, loud, too loud, static. I'm in my room, I look in the mirror, a monster looks back, screams, fuzz, the door opens. Someone is there, I can't remember their face, they had a knife, or a gun, I can't remember. They held it out and smiled, teeth sharp, blood dripping off them. My floor was stained, the memory fades, and all that's left of it is my heart beating in my throat.
My eyes focus on my room, my heartbeat slows, and I look around the room. I see a dress hanging from my closet door, the thought of it makes bile rise in my throat, I wish I was dreaming again. Nothing that happened could be as bad as this.

Tight, so tight. The fabric constricts me in a way I can't describe, feeling as if it's closing in around me even though the dress is semi-loose around my frame.
I look in the mirror and bike rides in my throat. I have to look away before I think I might actually vomit.
The dress is light pink and falls at my mid thigh. It's tighter at the top with a low cut that makes me want to jump out a window.
My mom walks into the room and squeals with delight at me in a dress.
"Oh Kelly you look so beautiful! You should wear these everyday!" She happily says as she walks around me observing how I look at every angle.
In her hand is a hairbrush and when she walks over she motions for me to sit down on the floor by my bed.
Swallowing hard I nod and obey, sitting between her legs on the floor while she's sitting on my bed running a brush through my hair. And with just 5 minutes of braiding she ruins all the confidence I built up from having my hair cut to the same length as Vic's.
Her hands feel like snakes, curling around my hair, venom coursing through my hair into my soul.
She places a pink bow at the bottom of the braid to tie it off and pats my head before walking out of the room. Not without telling me how pretty I am and that she'll be home after school tonight.
I check the clock, it's 45 minutes before I would normally leave but today is not a normal day, I say goodbye to mom and rush out the door, on the way to Vic's house.
I pull out my phone to text Vic I'm on my way only to see I have missed messages from him from last night.
'Kellin? Are you okay? What kind of emergency?????'
'I don't know if you are still up but I hope you are okay, don't do anything stupid'
'Also of course you can come over, I'll be ready'
I smile sadly at the text messages before clicking on his contact and then pressing the call button, holding the phone up to my ear.
"Hello?" Comes Vic's voice through the phone, worried and shaking, he sounds how I feel, exhausted.
"Hey."
