"Morning, Y/n." Beomgyu headed towards me once he entered the classroom, "How's the weather down there, tiny?"

I shook my fist at him, "Why don't you come and find out?"

He held my fist and casually pushed it away, "No thanks, I was pretending I cared about how you were doing."

"You should be more honest like me. I always make sure you know I don't care about you."

"Thanks for the advice, loser." He kicked my desk and walked over to his seat.

Taehyun, my seat mate, spoke to me, "Well, at least this is less intense than last week. When will you two ever stop bickering?"

"The day Beomgyu becomes a nicer person or when I die. I'm 99% sure that both of those possibilities will happen on the same day." I opened my backpack and took my pencils case out, preparing myself for today's lesson. "Honestly, I don't even know why you're even friends with him. He's a jerk."

"He's not. He's only a jerk with you..." Taehyun paused for a moment then added, "Wait, that sounded worse-"

The bell rang. "Alright, students." Our teacher arrived in classroom, "Settle down now. Class is in session."

During lunch, I went to sit with Taehyun. He was talking about something I didn't really care about. As I was eating, I noticed Beomgyu in another table, hanging out with his annoying friends. He was laughing and joking around. Ugh, he was so immature. And kind of cute... No! No, he wasn't! I realized I was spacing out because we accidentally made eye contact and he smirked at me. I didn't want to show how flustered I was so I... showed him a certain hand gesture. Taehyun stopped talking and noticed I wasn't paying attention and turned to face Beomgyu then at my hand and stifled a laugh. Beomgyu rolled his eyes and just before he was about to get up, a student approached our table.

"Hey, nerd!" Kai, one of the jocks, showed up furious.

Taehyun looked up and glared, "What, now?"

"Where's the homework I asked you to do?"

"I told you, Kai, I'm your tutor. I'm supposed to help you by teaching not cheating."

Kai barked at him, "And you're telling me you didn't do it?"

"No." But as Taehyun said that, Kai slammed the table, "Ugh, I've had it with you! You're testing my patience!"

I was unable to stop Taehyun from saying, "I didn't know you had any in you."

Kai grabbed Taehyun by his shirt and fear was finally visible in his eyes.

"Hey, let him go!" I yelled at Kai.

"Stay out of this." He rolled his eyes at me. Beomgyu finally left his table and pulled Kai and Taehyun apart, "Come on, dude. Leave him alone. He's with me, remember?"

"You think I don't know that?"

I didn't hesitate to yell at him, "Well, the fact that you're asking him to cheat, says you don't know a lot of things."

Kai pushed me to the ground, "I said, stay out of this!"

I fell to the ground and groaned. I realized that I scraped my knee and when I looked up, I saw Beomgyu punched Kai in the face.

"Ooh, fight! Fight! Fight!" A student started chanting and so did most of the kids inside the cafeteria. Taehyun went by my side to check on me and instead I was the one who asked him, "Are you okay?"

"What? Me?" Taehyun's eyes widened and jaw dropped, "Heck, I'm perfectly fine. It's you I'm worried about!"

I took a look at my bleeding knee and then at Beomgyu, who was beating up Kai. Why would he do that for me? Doesn't he hate me?

Eventually, the school's guidance counselor broke the fight up and demanded the boys to meet him in his office after school. Once Kai stormed off the cafeteria, Beomgyu helped Taehyun walk me to the clinic. I had so many questions to ask him but I couldn't utter a word for some reason. Eventually, I was in the nurse's office and Taehyun left for class. I watched Beomgyu not only stay with me but help the nurse out as well.  Later, the nurse placed a bandage on my wound and left. I was sitting on the bed silently while Beomgyu sat on a chair near it. It was only him and I. It was getting a little awkward so he decided to get up and leave.

"Wait!" I stopped him and he turned around to face me. "I don't understand something...I mean, you didn't have to come with me and stay until I was okay..."

"It's just the right thing to do." He shrugged and avoided eye contact with me.

"Yeah... but I don't believe that's all. There's more, isn't it?"

He didn't respond right away. "I hate you."

I raised an eyebrow at him, "Um, I know-"

"I hate you... I want to believe that because it's easier. But that's not true."

I was surprised by his statement and he went and sat in front of me. "I regret treating you so badly. From the first day I met you, I saw a smart, funny, and... pretty girl." I blushed as he continued, "But I promise after I admit it, I won't treat you like that anymore."

"What do you mean?"

"Y/n... I like you..."

My heart started beating out of my chest, "You- Me? Really?"

He nodded, looking down, "But I understand if you don't like me back. I don't deserve you at all."

"I- I-" I stuttered, I felt my whole body was heated, "I was scared to admit that I like you too..."

Beomgyu swiftly looked up, eyes and smile so wide. "Really?!"

I giggled and I couldn't help but say aloud, "Oh my gosh, you look so adorable."

Beomgyu's cheeks turned red and he instantly pulled me in for a kiss.
