A vacation was exactly what you needed. You sat alone around the docks, looking for something to do.
You were visiting your grandfather, who currently lives alone with his dog near the beach. Your grandmother passed away two months ago so he appreciates that you decided to visit him every Summer. You usually stay indoors but the only reason you're even outside of his house is because he kind of forced you to.

"The community here is friendly" He said as he pushed you out the door. "Make friends!"

Yeah, cause' it's easy.
You rolled your eyes as you recalled what your grandpa said to you.
Behind you, you saw a couple laughing together at the seaside. The sight made you feel lonely. As you tried to look away, a group of kids played together in the sand. Which made you even more lonelier.

You were sitting alone at the edge of the pier with no company. Unless you count the old dude behind you who was fishing. But even he was accompanied by a little kid who's most likely his grandson.

You saw your reflection on the water and admired the cute, little fishes that swam around it. You decided to find peace in your surroundings, as you had nothing better to do. The beach's ambience was comforting...

"AHHHHH" You heard faint screaming behind you. At first, you didn't mind it, assuming that it was probably a hyper, little girl. But the screaming got louder and closer. It felt like it was heading to your direction. You turned to look behind you to see a boy around your age, screaming and running. Your eyes widened as he was being chased by another boy.

"IT WAS A JOKE!" He was running toward the water.

"KAI KAMAL HUENING, YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS." The blonde haired boy that chased him shook his fist at the one who most likely was "Kai Kamal Huening" who'll pay for something.

"YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!" Kai raced, taking a leap into the water.

You made a mistake of getting up, "Woah, slow down-" but Kai collided into you and the two of you fell into the water, screaming.

The blonde boy gasped, covering his mouth. "Oh, sh-"

Meanwhile, you and Kai swam up and gasped for air.

His eyes widened at you. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry-"

You furiously splashed water at him, "Hey!- What- Why are you-"

"I TOLD YOU TO SLOW DOWN!"

"Sorry, I didn't hear you!" He defended, trying to block your splashes as he dried his eyes.

Frustrated, you swam out of the water, soaking wet. The blonde boy ran down from the docks and went after the two of you. "Miss, are you okay?"

"Yeah. Thank you." You sighed, but looked down at your outfit. "I can't say the same for my clothes."

As Kai got out of the water, the blonde boy grabbed his ear. "You're so reckless! Look what you did!" He indicated to you.

"Ow, ow, ow!" Kai exclaimed, "Beomgyu, let go!" He swatted his arm away.

You didn't want to admit it, but the scene was rather funny to watch.

"Look, I'm really sorry." He sheepishly smiled at you, "Do you have any extra clothes?"

"No. And my grandpa's house is a long walk from here so, I don't know what to do now."

His face lit up, "I think I can help! Come with me!"

"Welcome to Choi Souvenirs!"
was what the sign said.

"Nice self-promo, Kai." Beomgyu gave him a high five.

"Thank you!" He smiled proudly then he looked at my direction.

You bit the inside of your cheek, "I don't have any money..."

"That's fine!" Kai grabbed your wrist, which made you blush, and took you inside. "I'll pay for you. It's my fault anyway."

The bell chimed and a tall boy from the register greeted you, "Welcome to Choi Souvenirs! I'm Soobin, how can we help-" but his jaw dropped when he saw you and Kai were soaking wet.
"What the heck did you do, Ningning?"

"It was an accident." He chuckled nervously, "Do you have any spare clothes for..." He looked at me.

"Y/n." I answered.

He smiled and then faced Soobin again, "Do you have any spare clothes for Y/n?"

Soobin sighed, hands on his hips. "Check the back."

Later, you were dressed in new clothes. You wore a tourist t-shirt with denim shorts. When you got out of the dressing room, you see Kai also in dry clothes, already paying Soobin for you.

You went to him and grabbed his hand to stop him from paying, "No, it's okay. I can go back to my grandfather's place and grab my wallet."

But he reassured you, "It's fine, I was the one who ruined your day."

You didn't ruin it, but you made it better...
You thought to yourself but then shook your head and insisted, "It's really fine."

"No, it's not. Let me-"

"Can one of you lovebirds pay already?" Soobin's arms were crossed, he was already getting impatient. Beomgyu, who was standing behind Soobin the whole time, muffled his laughter as Kai grew bright red.

"Oh- No, we're- I'm not-" Kai was at a loss for words as he nervously glanced at you. You could only stare at Kai, your heart skipped a beat. While you stared, you didn't realize until that moment how handsome he looked... and how cute he looked when he's nervous.

"I just assumed since you two are holding hands..." Soobin pointed out.

You and Kai both looked down to see he was right. You quickly let go of him as Kai cleared his throat, "Just let me pay, Y/n... "

"Okay..." You looked away, hiding your blushing face.

When you both walked out of the shop and went back to the dock, he explained why he was being chased after Beomgyu.

You laughed, covering your mouth, "You seriously snuck a crab into his shorts?"

He snickered, "He never saw it coming."

He also had time to tell me about Choi Souvenirs. The shop is owned by his uncle. Kai stays there with his cousins every Summer. And you told him a bit about how your spending your the next few summers at your grandpa's.

As you reached the end of the dock, Kai cleared his throat. "Well, we're back to where we began. Now let's hope no one will push you into the water again." He joked.

"Yeah, it was nice meeting you, Kai." You waved to him and he slowly started to walk away.
You stared into the horizon but the silence wasn't comforting anymore. In fact, it was just pathetic. Things just gotten more exciting when Kai came around. You turned around.

"Wait." You and Kai both said at the same time. It was quiet for a moment, both of you were surprised.

He didn't leave... That fact made you happy.

"Sorry, you first."

"It was actually pretty boring before you pushed me."

"Seriously?" He tilted his head.

You nodded, "Can you show me around? Since I'm not familiar with the place."

His face lit up, "Sure, I'll give you the grand tour!" He grabbed your hand excitedly and you two spent the whole day walking around town.
