"Are you high?"

Ray didn't seem too impressed when I asked him if he knew of anyone who could get us an extremely powerful drill by tomorrow. The power we would need to break through that cement meant that the drill would have to be huge, something that wasn't exactly easy to get one's hands on, especially with such short notice.

"No Ray, I'm not high. Look, if you don't know anyone that's fine, but if you can think of anyone, and I mean anyone, then please let me know. You know why." I'd already explained to him what was at stake and the role that he would have to play.

Ray had wanted to get out of this lifestyle for a while now, and had barely hesitated before agreeing to help us out, but then I had managed to screw things up by asking if he knew of anyone who could get me a giant, underground drill. Or at least, I thought I had managed to screw it up.

"Okay, I know these two people who might." Ray admitted, "They were assassins, but they faked their deaths and went in to hiding. They run this sort of surplus shop and deal weapons on the side. We kept in touch. I can bring them over in an hour or a bit more if you give me the address."

I hesitated. What if his phone was tapped? Was he at work right now?

"Gerard, this phone is secure. Now give me the goddamn address." Ray interrupted my thoughts with attitude. I rolled my eyes and gave him the address, hanging up and turning to Frank, Pete and Mikey. "He might know someone who can get us the drill. They'll be here in an hour or so."

Knowing Ray, he meant an exact hour. That man somehow managed to be exactly on time for everything. I was definitely worried about these two new people that he was bringing in. In my eyes, it was just two new people who would know the plan and could betray us. I was already uncomfortable with bringing Patrick in on the plan, but two people who Ray barely knew were an accident waiting to happen. Although, if they had faked their deaths to get away from the organization, then they couldn't be all that bad. Maybe this would be for the better.

Exactly an hour later, there was a knock at the door. Resting a hand on the gun that was holstered at my side, I looked through the peephole, opening the door once I recognized the afro that could only belong to Ray.

Opening the door, I smiled at him and pulled him in for a one-armed hug, taking in the people behind him as I did so. One, a guy, had black, spiked up hair and a crazy grin on his face. The other seemed more sane, although he radiated energy as well. His brown hair was styled up in a sort of quiff. As Ray and I pulled apart, he followed my gaze and saw who I was looking at. "Oh right, this is Jimmy and Brendon."

The spiky haired one shook my hand, "Jimmy Urine." "Gerard Way." I replied, keeing myself from making a comment about his last name. "I'm Brendon." The other one said, over exaggerating his words by moving his mouth. "Wow, that sounds cool. Brendon. Brendoooon. Breeeeendooooon." Jimmy slapped him lightly upside the head, "He's not even high. He's just weird." I laughed and waved them inside, feeling incredibly more comfortable around the two of them already.

We all sat on Pete's two couches, Mikey, Pete, Frank, and I on one and Jimmy, Brendon and Ray on the other. "So," I began, "We need to break through a solid concrete floor."

Jimmy cocked an eyebrow, "Sure, but you've either got us or you don't. We'll work with you, but that means we're in on everything." I hesitated. It wasn't like I hadn't expected this, I was just unsure if it was a good idea to bring them in on this yet. Of course, the positives of their help far outweighed the negatives and we definitely needed their help with the whole job.

"Fine." I said, meeting first Jimmy, then Brendon's eyes. "You're in. Betray us and I'll kill you." "Sir, yes sir!" Brendon saluted mockingly, sending a jolt of anger through my body. He was undermining my authority as unofficial leader, but I couldn't allow myself to freak out at him. That would do the opposite of what I hoped. I needed their respect. Their fear and loathing would get me nowhere, I knew that.

I had to change the subject and still keep my unofficial authority. Well, they definitely needed to know what we were going to be doing.

"Okay guys, you need to know the plan. There's a lot at stake." I told them. They nodded, taking it all in stride as I started explaining. This was different from talking about plans with Pete, Patrick, Mikey and Frank.

Jimmy and Brendon were more experienced than me. They'd rebelled before. They were older than me, and it felt awkward to be sort of ordering them about.

Despite of all this, I pressed on, finishing my explaination of the plan and looking at them. "Are you still in?" I asked them calmly.

Brendon and Jimmy nodded, "We can get you through that floor." Jimmy said, "We can even get you something less noisy than a drill, but you'll still need the security systems to be disabled in order to get through the floor and in to the room. It's more of a vault, actually. Heavy security."

I nodded, "Patrick is our man inside. He knows the guards' shifts and if we time this right, then he can disable the system just long enough for us to get in and out. We'll have five minutes, tops." Brendon winced at the time limit, and I was inclined to agree. We wouldn't have much time at all. "I know it's not great, but we have to try. It's our one and only shot to make them stop coming after us for good."

They were already nodding. Jimmy smiled grimly, "We'll do our best." I smiled back, hoping I didn't seem as grim as he did, "That's all I can ask."

It was a relief to know that Jimmy and Brendon were onboard, and could get us something even better than the loud, high-powered drill that we'd planned to end up using.

Jimmy and Brendon stood up at the same time, "We'll go and get what we need." I nodded, "We'll work out the fine points and details of the plan." They then left, leaving us all sitting together on the couches in a prolongued, awkward silence.

Patrick clapped his hands, "I'm gonna go bake cookies."

So a huge thanks to @as_green_as_the_sky for my new cover, isn't it fabulous?

Yes, Jimmy and Brendon are Jimmy Urine and Brendon Urie

They're the first characters in this that aren't gay holler (but let's face it if Ryan wasn't dead in this, him and Brendon would totally be doing it rn)
