I opened my eyes as my body was slighty shaken from right to left. They stung from the light so I lifted my hand in an attempt to block the brightness from going any further. Feeling a tingle right above my elbow, I frowned and shook it off. It must have fallen asleep from sitting there so long. "We have your food..." Skinny said as she held up a few bags. "Ceaser salad?" Shank stated while pointing a finger at me. I shook my head and ran my hand over the thin blanket that guarded me just below the waist. Empty. I used my arms for support as I pushed myself into an upright position, wincing as a rush of pain shot through the right side of my head. "Are you okay?" Vee asked while knitting her eyebrows together. I gave her a quick nod and reached for the food in Shanks hand. "So...Mars left.." My eyes shot up and pierced into Adonis' icy blue ones. "Don't worry he'll be back, he just needed to clean up a bit, ya know?" I winked at him and took a bite of my food, biting down cautiously in the hopes that I would feel no pain.Looking around the room, I began to smile to myself. My love for these people, has never felt so great. This was my family, the fact that they were all here right now just shows me that they care about me just as much as I do them. "Will you all stay with me?" I asked, interrupting the small talk that was being maintained. 8 eyes stared back at me. Three pairs of brown ones, 1 pair of blue ones, but not those dark foggy ones. "Of course...as long as you want us too." Skinny said while looking towards the others for some sort of confirmation. I'm glad she didn't say need because once I was fine again I would feel like they wouldn't want be there anymore. She said want because she knows I would never want them to leave. I looked over at the clock and saw the time. 11:46 pm. "Well..If I can leave tomorrow then, maybe you guys should go get your stuff and take it to my place...if you want." They shook their heads and stared at me with a great amount of concern. "I'll be fine...just one more night." I blinked my eyes slowly and gave a smirk. With that they all began to shuffle and leave, but not before each one gave me a kiss on either the cheek or forehead. I was alone.
The room was poorly lit by a small emergency panel in the ceiling. The blinds to the huge windows were left open and I could see the dark blue skyline. Only a few stars peaked through the dense clouds that sat in the night air. I realized that I had to have been on one of the top floors, any other buildings weren't even visible. I thought deeply for a while as I stared at nothing in particular. Where do we go when we die? I mean who really knows? People claim to see a white light, or their whole life flashes before their eyes. I must not have died because I didn't see anything. Just darkness. It was just a dreamless sleep. There are so many theories about life after death. Heaven, Hell, limbo and some say resurrection. What are we supposed to believe? Resurrection has its evidence, but so do other things. I once read an article about a man who claimed to see the devil himself when he was on his death bed. While others say that they see a bright light drawing them in. However, when you're stuck in limbo you don't even realize you're dead. So where will I go when I die? Do I deserve to go to Heaven? Hell? Will I be stuck in the middle? I guess I'll never know until I'm gone.
A chill found my body as I turned over in the spacious hospital bed. It was substantially comfortable besides the thin blanket that barely warmed my frozen skin. It felt like it wasn't even there. I reassured myself that it was for the best due to sterilization of the room. As I turned on my back I heard a familiar sloshing sound. Lifting up quickly I scrunched my nose up at my surroundings. I was in a bathtub. Nothing else around but a door that seemed to be miles away. The water continued to overflow as I searched for a faucet. Oddly enough there wasn't one, the water seemed to be coming in from the bottom, but I couldn't find the source. My chin began to shake as the ice cold water overtook my body. Using my hands, I slicked my wet hair behind my ears and quickly placed them on the edges of the metal tub for support. After finally exiting the tub, I stood for a moment and analyzed my body. I was naked and my finger tips and toes were blue. My chin quivered harshly as the air hit my wet skin. The water was almost up to my ankles as it covered the white tiled floor. There was nothing here. Nothing at all but the door. Taking a few steps, I began to embark on the journey to the metal rectangle. It looked like a large freezer door. My arms crossed infront of my chest as I realized the light shining under the crack of the exit. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. At that point I realized that I couldn't even hear the water running. It was so quiet it was almost painful. Looking down once more I saw that the water had a pink tint to it, and it was now at my shins. Turning around my eyes lit up in horror. The entire bathtub was filled with bloody water...and me? I walked back to it quickly and stared at my lifeless body floating in the bloodstained water. My skin was pale, and my lips were so dry that the skin was coming off. I watched as my mouth twitched slightly. Am I going to say something? Suddenly a swarm of bees came flying out of my mouth, leaving my jaw to hang loosely. Jumping from the sight, I slipped, landing in the substance that was now a thick deep red. I swung my arms and swatted in an attempt to get rid of the insects. The liquid filled up at a high speed and began to surround me as a soundless scream escaped my mouth, but the buzzing was so loud I thought my ears would bleed. My hand lifted up to grasp something as it covered my face, restricting my breathing. A muffled voice spoke, "Luci...Luci" A cold clammy hand grabbed mine and I jolted foward taking a breath, I was awake now.
