"We're a mess, you and I, but the truth is, you captivate me in ways no soul ever will."

Sage and Lily were the first two to finish the Defence Against the Dark Arts mock exams, which left Sage finished with her classes and Lily with one left. Sage walked out of the classroom with a bright smile on her face. She was excited. After the next two weeks she would packing up her bedroom and moving in with Sirius. Lily was ecstatic for Sage when she heard the news of them moving in together. "So..." Sage started when they walked towards the Great Hall. "Have you talked to Severus?"
Lily sighed and shook her head no. "He's already said enough. He's approached me multiple times to apologize but still hasn't stopped hanging around Avery and them, so I think it's safe to say he won't change his views," Lily told Sage with a slight frown. "Well, in the bright side, you have plenty of other friends who love you unconditionally... Including a Mr. James Potter." Sage jumped away from Lily as the redhead went to go slap her arm. "Not funny!" Sage couldn't help but laugh, causing Lily to laugh too.
"You can't tell me that you haven't been warming up to him! I see the look in you eyes when you speak to him!" Sage pointed an accusing finger at Lily and the girl just looked away as she laughed. "You aren't denying it!" Sage's jaw dropped jokingly. "Just bloody stop this will you! Tell me about the flat! What colors are you going to paint it? Have you two decided on your room decorations?" Lily questioned her quickly to change the subject.
Sage rolled her eyes and started telling her about it. "My father found us a flat just far away from home for me to stay out of the public mostly. Sirius actually wrote him a letter saying how much he appreciated it, surprisingly..." Lily looked slightly confused at the end of Sage's sentence but let her go on. "As for Paint colors, Sirius wanted to do greys for the bedroom and I told him no. I suggested that we painted white and put up decorations that were golds and greys, but he just can't picture it all together so... yeah," Sage looked annoyed at the mention of the bedroom situation and Lily couldn't help but chuckle.
"How are you two going to compromise on the rest of the flat?" Lily asked her with a smile. "I'm honestly considering sending someone to do it for us before school is out. Then Sirius can't do anything about it," Sage told her, smiling back. "Oh, come on now, love, that wouldn't be nice." Sage and Lily turned around to be greeted by Sirius. "I think this is my que to go," Lily whispered to Sage before entering the Great Hall. "Well, if you would try and-" Sage was cut off when Sirius gave her a peck on the lips.
"I already gave you my ideas," He told her with a smirk. "And I gave you mine. The problem is compromising, love," Sage gave him a look that made Sirius laugh. "Well, we could just not paint and buy furniture that we see best," Sirius suggested. "You're an idiot."

McGonagall might have been walking down the hall at the worst time. Sage and Sirius seemed to be arguing and it did not look like it was going to solve itself. "What is the problem here?" She asked as she stared at her students. "Minnie! She won't let me paint our bedroom the color I want!" Sirius raised his finger at Sage like a child blaming their sibling for something they did. "Our? You two don't share a room, Mr. Black," McGonagall was extremely confused.
Sage seemed extremely annoyed at the fact that Sirius was still arguing with her over wall colors, but looked to her Professor. "We're getting a flat together, and Sirius thinks that painting our room grey would look nice. I said no." McGonagall looked back-and-forth between the two. "And not light grey, a dark grey. It would be awful trying to get colors to match that!" The older woman started to laugh at the two. "What's so funny, Minnie?" Sirius questioned her with a frown. "All of this over paint?" McGonagall stared at them.
The two didn't budge under her stare. "Well... What's Sage's thoughts?" Sage beamed. "I said we should paint the room white and decorate with golds and greys," McGonagall nodded and looked at Sirius. "I think you should listen to her." Sirius's jaw dropped as the Professor walked away from them.
"I told you!" Sage exclaimed in victory. "Whatever," Sirius grumbled under his breathe.

It was dinner time and students gathered in the Great Hall for food and to talk of their exams. Sage could say with confidence that she did well on all her exams, Lily too. Remus was talking to Sage about their answers while James, Sirius, and Peter just stared at them, completely lost. "Bloody hell, do they ever stop?" James looked between the two boys who shrugged. "Speaking of stopping, love, tell them about about how Minnie stopped today to witness us argue about paint," Sage stopped her conversation and laughed.
Her friends looked at the two of them like they were mad. "Why the bloody hell were you two arguing over paint?" James looked between them. "Because Sirius has not taste when it comes to interior decorating," Sage said bluntly. Sirius gasped dramatically and put a hand over her chest. "I can't- How could you say such a thing!" Sirius faked a cry as he stared at his girlfriend. Lily watched the scene like it was the stupidest thing she had ever seen.
"It's the truth too! What the bloody hell can I match with a dark grey room? It would not only make the room look smaller, but would take away from the decorations!" Sage exclaimed heatedly. "I thought you loved me!" Sirius was now fake sobbing. Sage could see the people from other tables glancing over at the scene Sirius was creating. "I do, I just think you have terrible taste in paint colors," She told him nonchalantly.
At this point, Remus and James were practically wheezing they were laughing so hard at the couple, Lily was trying to hold back a grin, and Peter was holding his stomach as he giggled. "I've never felt a betrayal like this!" Sirius kept going.
Sage only sighed and put her head in her hands
