Morning Nausea

The first cock crow should have woken me up but Edna had wearied me out the previous night so I thought to close my eyes for a little while longer, I didn't even notice she wasn't in bed. At about 8:30, the kids ran into the room.

'Dad wake up, its 8:30 in the morning.' Udoette shouted pulling the duve off me

'Good morning dad, sorry I tried to stop him from disturbing you but we're actually getting hungry and we haven't seen mum; where is she?'
Mmaette climbed unto the bed and sat on her knees

'God! I'mc going to sell the both of you. Go and meet your mother! She is the reason I didn't sleep for long, go away please.' I cried out throwing a tantrum

'Dad did you and mum have a fight last night?' Udoette asked

'No we didn't, I'm just playing. But seriously mama (as he fondly called Mmaette) take your brother to the kitchen I'm sure your mother is there.' I finally opened my eyes to take a peek at the rascals invading my space

'Dad, mummy is not in the kitchen or in he house, we've checked.' She said stoic
Suddenly there was a bang at the door, Capt. Vincent was shouting from behind the door.

'What do you mean your mother's not home? And what is Vincent doing here so early.' I startled

'Major open the door, something is happening.' He continued to bang on the door

'Vincent, calm down and knock gently.' I began to frown

'Major, where is your wife and the kids? Have they been reversed?' He didn't salute or greet, he just barged in

'Edna should be at the back washing, Vincent relax and breathe, what is going on?' I rubbed my eye ignoring the seriousness on his face

'Good morning Uncle Vincent.' Mmaette and Udoette chorused

'Morning kids, thank God you're here.' A quick smile ran across his face 'Major you need to listen to what's happening.' He said turning the tv on with the controller

'The entire city of Calabar and the world during the early hours of this morning was put into chaos as reports came in from 911 calls about people waking up and not seeing their loved ones. The police stations are packed full as men, women, boys and girls come out to lodge their complaints. In some parts of the world riots have broken out, some people are saying this is a terrorist attack which is unlikely; while some say it's the end of the world. I have with me here a professor in religion from the University of Calabar to explain what's happening. Professor Akpan it's good to have you with us today.' The reporter said

'Thank you for having me.' He answered

'Prof please tell us, should what is happening right now be a matter of concern to everyone?' She asked looking pale

'Unfortunately yes, everyone should be scared. I don't mean to say this the way I have but it's necessary I do so we can be ready for what's coming. Contrary to popular belief, this isn't rapture, trust me I have studied the good book to know but they are related in some way. If it were rapture children from 0 to 7 shouldn't be left behind. I lost my wife to this last night but my baby is still with me. What is happening is called a reversal, I can't spend so much time here because I have to get prepared for what's coming after now I just thought to share my thoughts. Listen carefully if you have a bible, go to revelation chapters 6, 7, 8 and 9 it will explain most things. The worlds chapter 6 just started. My advise for those still on earth is trust no one, if your loved ones are still stuck here, find them and fight for your life because there's a war coming. Get weapons, please I suggest you do, protect yourselves at all cost and stay alive till death comes and you can't die.' He said standing up in the middle of the conversation and walking out

'Prof, prof...sir! Oh my god! What is happening I don't even understand what he said.' She said manic as she stared around the studio while still on air in full view of the city.
