Immediately after my successful trials I sent a message to Aso Rock in Abuja, to president Goodluck about my accomplishment and how it would serve humans. A part of me thought he would never get the message because of protocol but to my surprise I received a call yesterday on my Satcom from Aso Rock; a representative said my presence was required.
'Major, when you go come back?' Udeme asked watching me pack my bag
'I'll be gone for just a week, I believe keeping everyone in line wouldn't be a problem for you?' I asked
'No sah, it won't be a problem.'
'I'm going with my children too, I promised not to leave them behind for whatever reason.'
'No problem.'
'Please make sure food isn't wasted, because you know going out for supplies is really risky. I want to meet everyone alive.'
'We'll be fine sah. But how will you get to Abuja?'
'Air force one will be landing at Margaret Ekpo international airport at 1600hours on Thursday.'
'Isn't there a procedure for landing? You know like communicating with the pilot?' Udeme asked
'Yes! All we need to do is to clear that tarmac of creatures or humans. So I was thinking we should go and scout the place and see how many threats we have to deal with and possible escape routes.'
'That's superb! When do we leave?'
'First light is good.'
'I'll let the others know, is 5am okay?'
'Yes please.'
At 4:55am on Wednesday we left for the airport driving without headlights so as not draw attention to ourselves. Eyo and four of the soldiers stayed back to guard the house, Omawunmi was the one that volunteered to tag along. The children had their own guns now, Udoette preferred a semi-automatic mac Russian made with his golden bodied pistol I gave him for his 9th birthday---he's 9, one part of my frustrated mind told me. Mmaette preferred bow and arrows so I designed different types for her, ones that could explode on impact, ones with minute cameras for facial recognition---with this she could attack eight people at a time, so everyone's face was programmed in to avoid friendly fire. She also loved knives because she never did well with guns. Her training took longer because she would combat in close range which is risky so she took more strenuous training, on her birthday i gave her a pink colored pistol as a pre-birthday gift.
When we got to the airport it was already 5:30am, we walked into the waiting hall then unto the airport apron, grasses had taken over the whole place. We walked by the wall and spotted movement from the other end of the apron, since the grasses were high enough we hid behind them. Mmaette and Udoette covered our rear while we observed them with binoculars.'Are those humans or fallen stars?' Udeme asked
'Humans, but it looks like they are in chains.'
'Let's me see' Udeme requested 'Sah this place isn't run by thugs Major, fallen stars have enslaved this people. But the good news is by my count there are just four of those ugly things.' Udeme said
'Four is all they need; one of them is two of us without guns. Look north-east, what do you see?'
'It's clear, zero movements but there are obstacles on the runway.'
'What about the runway on the other side?' I asked
'We have two hostiles not armed buy the runway is clear.'
'We'll that's where airforce one is going to land tomorrow. First we'll take out those two guards then allow the rest reveal themselves---if have a feeling they are more than four. When all their compromised, you'll draw them to the other runway, there is a fire exit that leads to the front of the airport, use that as your way out. That will give us ample time to get on the plane.' I explained
'Yes sah.'
'We're done here, let's go before we're spotted.'
