Extinguished (a post mockingjay story)

It's been two weeks since the so called "Capitol paparazzi" came to the district to take pictures. It's also been two weeks since me and Peeta are officially dating and it's been a whole less confusing. We do stuff normal couples do like go on dates and kiss and we keep each other sane normal couples may not do that but we do. I may have been unsure at first but now I'm one hundred percent sure I love Peeta Mellark I wish I would have realized it in our first games not only because it would have save us a lot of problems but because being in love with someone and being loved by someone is just wonderful I mean you never feel lonely or sad most of the time all you feel is happy and loved. The pet names are a little much at times but he does it only to mess with me. Sometimes I don't even know if he is talking to me.

"Kat what are you thinking about" Peeta says as he comes and takes a seat beside me on the couch.

"Nothing. So what do you want to do today"

"whatever you want" he says with a smile and kisses me on the cheek .

"you missed" I say teasingly.

"oh I'm sorry" he says as he leans in and kisses me on the lips.

After we sit on the couch for a while just talking and joking when I look up at the clock I see that it's 12:00 o'clock. Out of the corner of my eye I see a flash and then I see the most ridiculous outfit I've seen in a while. At first i brush it off thinking it's just my imagination but when i see that Peeta is look exactly where i saw it makes me feel a little less easy.

"You saw it too" he says in a whisper.

i nod in response i get up and use my hunter feet to creep over to the window so i cant be heard by capital people  trying to be discreet about spying on us. This isn't the first time the capital has sent camera men to spy on us and find out what we are up to last time we gave them what they wanted and they went away but now they are back and quite frankly i'm kinda of tired of dealing with these people. Me and Peeta just established that we were more then friends and now i'm afraid that all this flashing is going to make him have a flashback or change his mind . When i pull back the blinds im blinded my flashes of cameras. I quickly draw them close letting my eyes readjust. Just as Peeta goes around to the other window to make sure that they are closed. After we close all the blinds we hear a knock at the door.

"should i get it?" he asked

"No'i'll get it " i say as nicely as i can i mean not that he is in cable of getting his own door but what if the capital people make him a attack i mean then we will have to call Haymich and Peeta won't talk to me for 3 days and we will have to start our whole lets try to have a relationship thing from scratch.

He nodded as i went to get the door him failing behind me about four feet. As i open the door i am instantly blinded once again. with people in flashy clothing screaming things like "KATNISS!" "KATNISS EVERDEEN!" "LOOK IT'S THE GIRL ON FIRE!" THE MOCKINGJAY!" then almost after a minute of everyone yelling my name i hear one,two,three and then about twenty gasp "IT'S PEETA MELLARK!" "PEETA!" "ARE THE STARCROSSED LOVERS BACK TOGETHER!!!"  Then in the middle of the crowd of capital reporters we see a man with long normal looking hair and clothes charging the crowd with is what i think is a garden rake. It was Haymich.

"Get back you corset wearing crazy people" he says screaming plowing threw them with his rake.

"Leave these kids alone they have had all the trouble they need for lifetime" he kept screaming. He locked eyes with me and winked and raised his eyebrow. Even now i could still tell that he was tell us to go inside and that he had it handled but before i could close the door this man putt his hand in the door.
