I jumped out of the car when Sam pulled up to Juliet's house. "Wait!" I yelled making Sam come to a stop. "What?" Sam asked. "How am I going to get to school?" I sounded pathetic, he already does so much for me and I keep asking for more. "You can stay inside and if you want to change and shower, Juliet has an older brother and when he left for college he left some clothes behind." I offered hoping he'll agree. "Sure." Sam said while he pulled back into the driveway. "There's a bathroom down the hall if you need anything I'll be over there." I said as pointed to the spare room where I was staying. "Ok, what about the clothes?" Sam asked. "Oh right." I walked into the bedroom beside the bathroom and opened up a box in the closet. "Will this work?" I asked as I held up a pair of pants and a white tee-shirt. "Yea, it'll work." Sam said as he took the clothes from me. "Thank you, again for everything." I said before he closed the door to the bathroom. "It's not a problem honestly, it's my fault anyways I should've never even offered to go nothing ever good happens at parties." Sam looked down and started to mess with the button on the jeans. "No it's not your fault at all, I wanted to go I could've said no but I didn't I agreed to go. I'm not saying it's my fault and I'm not saying it's yours, all I know is that whatever happened was supposed to go that way. Maybe something benefited from it, I don't know but I do know is that it's not your fault." I said. "Thank you, really thank you." I stared at Sam until he looked back. I noticed that Sam's eyes were red and watery, he looked like he was about to break down in tears. "Well, we better get ready or were going to miss science and we have to present the project today." I said breaking the silence. "Fuck I completely forgot about that!" Sam said and quickly shut the door. I stepped into the shower letting the warm water wash away the smell of alcohol and smoke. I wonder if Sam is telling me the whole story about what happened last night. I believe what he told me but I feel like he's leaving something out, it would probably explain why he's been so quiet around me. I turned the water off and grabbed the towel off the rack wrapping it around my body. "Are you dressed?" Sam asked from the other side of the door. "Yea you can come in." I replied. "We have to stop by my house to pick up the project." Sam said as he walked into my room. "Ok, science isn't till the end of the day so we'll have enough time to get the project and be there when class starts." I said. "Are these your parents?" Sam asked as he picked up the crumpled picture of my parents. "Yea." I said as I walked up to him. "You look like her." Sam said as he looked up at me. "I've been told that by a lot of people." I took the picture from Sam and shoved it in my front pocket. "Fuck it." Sam said. "What?" I asked. "Fuck school, lets do something else." "What about the project, you worked so hard on it." I said. "Fuck it we always have another day to turn it in." "But where would we even go?" I asked. "Anywhere." Sam said taking my hand and dragged me to the car. "Where to?" Sam said as he started the car. "This sounds lame but, there's this place it's kind of far but it's a lake house, my parents own it and they passed it down to me and my brother." I haven't been to the lake house in years and it would be nice to just take a break from all the stress. "Perfect, where is it?" Sam asked. "It's 7579 Rusk Lake." I said. "Can you type it in, I suck at telling directions." Sam said as he handed me his phone. "Sure." I took his phone opening up the GPS app. I looked over at Sam following the directions that the GPS gave him. I still can't help to think that there is more to the story than Sam is telling me. I have this sick feeling in my stomach that there is something that Sam is afraid to tell me, I just don't know what it is.
